A/N: this is a filler chapter to introduce you to the main character, Drew, and her surroundings/situation!

"Drew when's mommy coming home?"

I look over to Jonah, his brown eyes are filled with despair. I let out a slight sigh, "I'm not sure buddy, she said in a few days, that was yesterday."

He let's out an annoyed groan, normally I would've been upset with him for it but how could I blame him, he's 10 and wants his mom. I take out my phone and start texting my older brother Nick.

"Where did she go this time?"

I continue texting and shrugged, "Uhm, I'm not sure I think she went to Boston with George."

Me: Hey Nick, how's the college life? We're getting settled in to the new apartment, I wish it was bigger than the old one, but sadly it's a lot smaller; hope moms new job will give us more opportunities. She's in Boston now with George and Jonah keeps complaining, Ana hasn't said much, wish you were still here.

I put my phone down on the counter and got up walking to the fridge.

I let out a sigh, "Jonah go get Ana, I'm gonna take you two out to get something to eat."

His face lights up with a smile and he took off down the hallway.

A few minutes later they came running into the kitchen.

I bent down, picking her up in my arms.

"Hey my princess how are you?"

She let out her cute laugh, "I'm good, I want food!"

"Good because that's where we are going!"

I set her down and walk over to the counter picking up my keys and I tell them to follow me.

I open the car door and Ana hops into her car seat, I buckle her then got in the driver seat.

"Aren't we glad mom left her car and took George's nice Range Rover to Boston?"

Jonah starts to nod but then a confused look washes over his face, "Wait, what's a Range Rover?"

"A very, very expensive car."

He let out an 'ah' and turns his head to Ana.

A smile spreads across my face as I start the ignition and back out of our driveway.

As I drove Jonah spoke up, "Are you excited to be a junior?"

I let out a laugh and nod, "Very! I'm really nervous to be starting at a new school though."

"Why? Why wouldn't anyone like you?"

I laugh at his sweet innocent comment, "Because that's how everybody is to new kids."

He gives a nod showing that he understands and turns his gaze to the window.

When we got home I make sure to lock the door, and then meet the kids in the kitchen where they are devouring their McDonald's.

"Slow down guys your gonna get sick!"

Ana starts to whine, "But I'm soo hungry."

"The slower you eat the more you'll taste it."

With that she slows down and so does Jonah, I smile at the fact they listen to me and walk into the living room, turning on the TV and switching the channel to Disney Junior.

After they finish they went into the room and started watching TV.

Before I was able to join them my phone starts buzzing.
