"Mr and Mrs Rivers, may I have a word." The couple takes a glance at their young son then solemnly follows the doctor into the hall. They look at him with sad eyes and Mrs. Rivers speaks, "What's wrong with him Doctor?" The doctor looks down at his charts, "Your son, Jonah, was diagnosed with Leukemia." The woman hugs her husband tightly and lets out a loud cry. "T-this can't be happening, James what are we gonna do." The man looks to his wife, "Don't worry, we will do everything we can to make sure our son survives, and you know that." The couple walks back into the room with the doctor. The mother looks to the girls, "Megan, take Ana and Drew out into the hall with you." The older girl looks to her mother, "Okay, is everything alright?" "Go in the hall, we'll discuss this later." The girls go into the hall and the parents look to the doctor. "Hello Jonah, how are you today?" James wraps his arm around his wife as the doctor deliverers the news to their son. "I'm tired, but I feel okay right now." "We got your tests back, remember how you had to get your blood drawn and go through that scary machine earlier?" He nods, "Yes." "You have an illness where your body has too many little fighters in your blood that to fight off disease but if there's too many they start to not work; what you have is called Leukemia." Jonah looks down in confusion, "I'll leave you three alone." The doctor exits the room. "Daddy." The father walks over to his son and sits beside him, taking his hand in his own. "Yes, son?" "Am I dying?" The father shakes his head, "Heck no, your gonna just like Spider-man and defeat the bad guys, you'll do just fine." The little boy smiles, "But I don't have his powers daddy." The man laughs and pulls a stuffed Spider-man doll from behind his back, "You don't need his powers, you have your own. Yours help defeat your sickness. Keep this little guy close to you, he'll always remind you of who you are." He smiles, "Daddy?" "Yes, son?" "Promise me that you'll make sure I defeat them." The man pulls his son in for a hug, "Daddy promises, that no matter what he'll always be right beside you." The boy smiles, "I love you Dad."

"No, please no god please." I hear Matt run towards me and he wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me away. "NO. STOP. I CAN'T LEAVE HIM PLEASE, MATT LET ME GO." Matt faces me towards him and puts his hands on my shoulders, "Shh, Drew stop, I called the ambulance they are coming right now." I fight his grasp and run towards Jonah's body. I cradle him in my arms as I hear the sirens coming closer.

The ambulance pulls up on the grass and they run towards us. "Miss, what happened?" I stand up, "H-he was playing with his sister and he just collapsed." The EMT picks Jonah up in his arms and rushes him to the truck. "Parker, get the defibrillator, stat!" I watch as they lay his body onto the gurney and the man gets the machine.

Matt wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer. We watch as the EMT's try to bring him back. "CLEAR." They bring down the paddles to his chest and his body jerks. They look to the monitor and it's still flat. "CLEAR." His body jerks again but this time the flat line spikes up and continues going up and down. I jump onto the truck and grab Jonah's hand, "Oh my goodness, you saved him." The man looks to me, "Sit down miss, we need to get him to the hospital right away then have him lifestared to where he needs to be." I walk to the edge, "Matt, meet me at the childrens hospital, bring Ana, heres my keys." Matt catches them in his hands and runs into the house to get Ana.

The EMT shuts the doors to the ambuleance and they jump in the front. I sit there holding Jonah's hand while a younger looking EMT sits beside me. Jonah's eyes flutter open as the ambulance speeds up, "Oh my God, Jonah how are you feeling?" He coughs, "Not like Spider-man." I let out a small laugh, "But you are like him buddy. You're even better, I bet Spider-man can't survive what you just did." He smiles and closes his eyes. The EMT next to me looks at me, "Are you his mom?" I look to him and shake my head, "Oh God no, he's my brother. I'm Drew, I'm 16." He nods, "Where's your mom?" My eyes widen, "Holy shit I didn't call her." I look around for my phone, "God dammit I left it in Matt's kitchen." He takes out his phone and hands it to me. I quickly dial her number. "Mom? Oh my God mom. Jonah died, but he's alive now and we are headed to St. Joes then geting lifestared to the childrens hospital." She starts to cry, "Oh my goodness, I'm getting in my car now." She hangs up and I hand the phone back to him, "What's you name?" He looks to me, "I'm John." I smile, "Thank you so much, thanks to you and your crew my brother is still here." He nods, "Anytime." The ambulance stops and the back doors swing open, the three of them get the gurney onto the pavement and they take off running into the hospital. John calls out to me, "Come on!" They give Jonah to the nurses and we all take off running to the elevator. We all get in and ride up to the roof. The door opens and they rush to the helicopter. "She will be riding with you two." The nurse inside the helicopter nods as they set Jonah on the gurney inside the helicopter. "Sit there and stay still, we don't need you falling out of the plane." I nod and sit still. The helicopter takes off and starts heading east towards the children's hospital which is an hour car ride.
