Bullying Is Never Okay

He was tired
tired of being bullied
because he is different
no one stood up for him,
so is bullying okay?

you see, he just graduated elementary and now he's entered junior high
he thought once he comes out of the closet he would still live a normal life
instead insults striked and slained him as if they were knives
everytime he decides to run, he fails no matter how hard he tries

he was called rude names, he was pushed to the ground
he was punched, he was kicked, he almost drowned
forced to give his money, he was ordered around
it's a cycle that never stops like a merry-go-round

he goes home, bruises and wounds on his face
his parents didn't care, they see him as a disgrace
he'd lost all hope, he felt out of place
he hated the things that he can't erase

even the teachers didn't mind to look his way
they didn't even think to ask if he was okay
all they did was watch as the life within him slowly drained away
and he experienced this pain every single day

but why? Why was everything so grim?
Why did the truth make his journey so dim
what was so bad that made his parents disown him
what caused him to become a victim

it's because he's queer
and now he's living in fear
nowhere to go, his eyes filled with tears
he can't understand why it's so severe

he didn't speak up for he knew there would be a consequence
but even if he did, it wouldn't make a difference
It doesn't matter now, he had ran out of confidence
all of this bullying, he thought it would never end

And it is merely a thought because someone came by
interrupting the opressor's mission of making him cry
a tall girl, the anger visible in her eyes
she stared straight at the bullies with her head held high

she said, "Stop, this isn't right
look at what you're doing to this poor, little tyke
he is hurting, he's in such a fright
think about how he feels everyday and every night.
Is this what you bullies call bliss?
When he is falling in darkness and abyss
I demand that you all stop this
this is not something anyone would want to reminisce."

and that's how his bullying came to an end
who knew a few words could help defend
a struggling boy who's world was almost dead
his broken soul was mended by that new friend

his parents accepted his identity
the bullies gave their sincere apology
the teachers showed their sympathy
and he's now happier than he can be

millions of people are a victim of bullying
and it won't stop unless we step out of the crowd
we shouldn't be afraid to stand up for those who are bullied
we shouldn't be afraid to sign up on advocacys to help them
we shouldn't be afraid to tell others about what is happening
because we know that if we don't take action
bullying will continue on and on and on
and bullying is never okay

Woohoo well won't you look at that. This is a Spoken Word Poetry I had to do for school last year (2016) huehue
