The Emerald Within

Chapter 1

        Peace and Quiet. These two words seem like they were meant to be together. Maybe not. Some people like the sound of that, while on the other hand... There are others who find the words 'peace' and 'quiet' very, very boring. Peace is very hard to find in some places... Like, for example, Mobius... Some more than others, but it is still very difficult to find.

        However... Today was not a peaceful day. It was, but at the same time... It wasn't. A new enemy has arrived. Sonic, Tails, Amy, Shadow, Knuckles (He was only there because the Master Emerald was stolen, by this new enemy.), Cream, and Cheese (Cheese goes everywhere that Cream goes, because they are like best friends.).

        "Why won't you annoying little fuzzballs just leave me alone!" The reptile yells, as it is being chased, finding it very difficult to run holding the giant gem in it's arms, Just a bit further, and I can pass this thing on to him.

        "Hey! Velocity!" A figure ahead yelled, furious at the reptile, now known as Velocity, "I didn't tell you to bring them with you! Just the emerald!"

        "Well, I'm sorry, but their being so persistent!" Velocity yelled, throwing the gem at the figure in the shadows, revealing it to be a squirrel. The squirrel tightens it's arms around the massive gem, causing it to glow slightly brighter.

        "Just stand back, and I'll deal with them!" Holding the gem up above it's head, it began to glow intensly. Seconds later, a beam came out of it, right as they had arrived. Of course, Sonic, who was unaware, and already in attack, gets hit by the beam. Sonic yelped loudly, in surprise, and at the intense amount of pain, that had course through his body, almost hitting Tails as he flew back from getting hit by the attack.

        Amy ran over to his side, helping him to sit up, "Are you all right, Sonic!" She asked worried. Sonic nodded in a slow manner, that made it seem as if he was unsure himself, as he rose to a sitting position, shaking his head, to try to rid it of it's massive aching pain.

        "Yea, I'm fine." He replies, getting back up slowly, with Amy's help, a bright green glow flashing around his outline, as he then looks over at the squirrel, who seems surprised, noticing something and begins to worry, "But where'd the Master Emerald go?"

        "What did you do with it!?" Knuckles yells furiously, demanding for an answer from the unnominous squirrel intruder, who had come and take it from his island, and now it was gone, and he wasn't happy about it either. He had only given the squirrel a few seconds, would have been less, if he had more strength, as they had been chasing that same reptile beside the squirrel, about all day, and they were a little fatigued, but anyway... Giving it only a few seconds, before demanding an answer again, "Answer me!"

        "Wh-Where did you put it?" Velocity questions, afraid of the anger apparently building up inside of Knuckles, but gets smacked in the back of the head by the squirrel, "Ow! What did I do?"

        "You know very well where it is... I told you before the plan even began!" The squirrel yelled, smaking him in the back of the head again, but didn't sound all to confident in what he was at saying at all...

        "Give it back!" Knuckles yelled, getting angrier by the seconds that went by that he didn't recieve his precious emerald back, "NOW!!"

        "What if I refuse?" The squirrel laughs, revealing a red chaos emerald like object. As Knuckles, unable to stand this anymore, strikes at them, the squirrel grabs the velociraptor's hand, "Choa Control!"

        But how? Shadow thinks in disbelief, It looked just like Chaos Control, but why was it called that? He looks over at Sonic, who was swaying severely, Maybe it's from another world, or deminsion, "What's wrong?" Shadow finally speaks, walking over to Sonic's side, placing a sympathetic hand on his back.

        "You don't look so good, Mr. Sonic..." Cream replies, with such a worry, that it was causing her eyes to shimmer. Her Chao sitting on her shoulder looked worried as well.

        "I'm fine..." Sonic assures, but like a few other occasions, as soon as the words were said, he fell to the ground... Unconscious.

        Meanwhile. The squirrel appeared in an ominous looking cave, "Why did you do it, then?" The reptile asks, looking bewildered.

        "I can use this. The Master Emerald is too powerful for his small body. This can come to an advantage and a disadvantage." The squirrel replies calmly.

        "How so?" The reptile asks, not understanding what the squirrel was saying, and slightly tilted his head, to show it more better.

        "Advantage; The Master Emerald's power can be ours, and it will get rid of him once and for all. The Disadvantage; The connection with the Chaos Emeralds will be allot stronger... Stronger, because it can control the emeralds itself."
