Alfred followed Yao down the hall, all while taking note of how giddy he seemed. Occasionally Yao would glance back, but other than that he kept walking with a grin on his face. "You make me uncomfortable sometimes..." Alfred murmured while messing with his gloved hand. He couldn't help but think about the marking underneath and how Arthur would soon have a matching one.

A few more minutes of walking down the hall, and they reached the wing where the king and queen slept. Yao moved over to the door and motioned to it. Alfred nodded and pressed his ear against the large blue and white door, straining to hear.

Alfred could hear Arthur pacing back and forth while murmuring to himself. "Tomorrow I'm going to marry a king. Tomorrow I'm going to be the queen of the Spade kingdom. And..." Arthur seemed to go quiet. Alfred worried that he had realized they were there, but much to his relief Arthur continued a few moments later.

"I should calm down. I shouldn't worry about it once. I mean... last night was..." He went quiet for a moment again "Perfect..." Yao looked at Alfred with a grin and wiggled his eyebrows. Alfred shook his head quickly and they continued to listen. "Oh god... the rest of our lives? I think I'm already in love with a total stranger." Alfred choked on air slightly. "How is this even possi-" Arthur cut off and moved towards the door.

Before Alfred could move away, Arthur had opened the door, and the king fell forwards into the room, landing on his face. Yao had already gotten the fuck out of there and was watching from a distance. Smart choice.

"A-Alfred?" Arthur's face turned bright red as he looked down in shock "How long have you been here?" Alfred nervously stood and smiled "Good evening my queen..." He reached down and picked up his glasses off the floor, before slipping them back on "What do you mean? Been where?"

Arthur hated it. How easily Alfred coud hide his feeling with a calm look on his face. They always said back in his village, that the king had a calm face even while in battle... slaughtering other men. He couldn't help but think it was a blessing and a curse.

"You were ease dropping on me..." Alfred swallowed hard, but maintained a calm smile "I was... oh well... sorry. I came to let you know all the preparations are ready, and the wedding will be at noon tomorrow." Arthur was suddenly distracted by something else "Will my family be there?"

Alfred gave Arthur a sweet look "Of course they will... how else am I going to meet my inlaws." Arthur couldn't help it. He jumped at Alfred and hugged him tightly "You've been nothing but kind to me! I am so grateful for everything you've done. Thank you... so much."

Alfred was a little surprised but hugged him back. "You're welcome, my queen."
