"Your highness, I bring word from court..."
Yao stared up at the king on his throne. His blonde hair was slightly tangled, and his blue eyes were peering down at the Jack. He was so powerful... yet... so young.
"What is it, Wang?"
He raised an eyebrow, the jack could already tell he was bored. While taking in a gulp of air, Yao spoke what he feared "The kindom of clubs has made a move. Their army is now practicing near the borders and often threatens our government openly."
Alfred's eyes widened as he sat up, worry showing of his face "And?" "And the court wants to move forward. Though they fear the kingdom won't stand a chance if you don't have a queen to support you-please understand the kingdom needs a queen!" Yao spoke with wide eyes, he obviously wanted Alfred to agree.
Silence filled the air as Alfred closed his eyes. With a sigh he reluctantly spoke "Send a bellman to each town. Have him announce that the king is looking for a bride. Gather all the beautiful young women that you can find in each town... be sure they are healthy, well mannered, and kind before you bring them to me..." He looked away "I will chose a queen within this week..."
With a nod and low bow, the Jack backed out of the room. As soon as the doors shut, Alfred felt his pokerface melt away into the worried face of a child. He had to marry... for the kingdom.
