Arthur walked through the streets of his little village home. His hair was hidden in a bonnet and his very feminine figure was defined by a tight dress. It was a short blue dress with ruffles everywhere. It came with a white apron to match his white and blue bonnet.
He wasn't a cross dresser. In fact he wouldn't normally wear this. He was off to wash clothes, and he always had to dress like a girl when doing errands, he was treated nicer and given an easier time. It was a cruel reality, but he didn't mind as long as it supported his siblings.
Arthur had a basket hanging from his arm, and he already had two loaves of bread in it. As well as the bread, there was a small pouch of money that he was supposed to take to the tax collecter. If was the last of the money sent back when his father died.
"Watch out!"
Arthur looked up suddenly, his emerald green eyes widening in shock. With a sudden force, someone shoved him out of the way of a carriage... a royal carraige. He swallowed hard, the only time his town ever saw those was when they were recruiting soldiers.
The person who had shoved him, helped him up "You need to be more careful, miss" The man spoke, though Arthur was in a terrified daze. "R-right... thank you... sorry for your troubles..." He murmured as the man turned and walked over to where he originally stood.
The door of the carriage opened to reveal a royal bellman, who stepped out followed by gaurds. It wasn't until the gaurds started picking young women out of the crowd and taking them away, that Arthur noticed the second carriage behind the first.
"The king is looking for a bride! All young and beautiful women who are eligible for marriage are to be brought to the palace at once!" The bellman announced while looking at a scroll.
Before Arthur could react a gaurd started pulling him towards the second carriage. Unfortunately... he was in too much of a daze to fight back. He let himself be dragged to the carriage and set in it with three young ladies.
By time he was out of the daze, Arthur already the carriage moving away from his town. He stared out of the windows in pure shock and forced himself to swallow his fears. "Bloody gits..." He murmured under his breath, referring to the guards.
Arthur didn't know what his family would do with him gone, especially since he just disappeared. He was sure someone would explain to his mother that he was taken to be a possible bride for the king.
With a sigh, the brit laid his head back and shut his eyes. It was a long way to the castle, and he might as well get sleep before he was sent to the king. He would probably be executed for impersonating a woman. Either way... it was the start of an adventure.
