Suicide

Suicide...

It's interesting that I started writing about this because I can't say I haven't thought about it.

I think now everyone has thought about suicide.

Not saying the world is suicidal but we all thought about it

Whether as an option or just thought about why someone would consider it.

Even the people who hear about it and think it has nothing to do with them

I mean they heard about it right?

So they thought about it though only for a moment

They still did

The world knows about it

People consider it

People commit it

People try to commit it

People fail at it

People try to stop it

People don't try

People get help for it

People get help to commit it

It affects everyone

And yet people think it has nothing to do with them

I get it okay

You see a girl a boy walking down the hall

Scars on their arms dark circles under their eyes, maybe bruises on their face, arms, fists, legs etc., or they look completely normal but you heard the gossip about what they tried last weekend,

They smile and you feel okay and go on your way

They don't feel okay, you do

Because you think it doesn't matter

You think that they smile because they're happy to be there

No, you can't read their mind.

Maybe they think how long it will be until their parents snap and hit them

Maybe how long until their next high

How long until their next drink

How long will it be until the whispers go away

How long until they can stop smiling like a normal person

How long to get to the bathroom and throw up from anxiety or just trying a new 'diet'

How long...

How long do I have to endure,

Until a peaceful eternal sleep overtakes me.

Or just plainly.

How long until a bullet goes through my brain?

How long until that rope around my neck becomes too tight!?

How long until the blood runs dry?

How long does it take to DIE!?

All while people, maybe you, maybe not you, think it has nothing to do with them.

One hug

May not save a thousand lives

But it might save one

Standing up

Might not change our world over night

But it might change one

You can't know

But you can be kind

You can be good to one another

You might not make a huge difference in everyone's life

You might just make a huge difference for everything in one life

So count all the people in the world who think about suicide

And count how many a little kindness a little caring can help to turn thinking about commiting it to a way to help the cause.

Thank you for reading and as I want all you to do live, be happy, and love one another
