My Poetry Book: Finding Who I Am

To Become Human

Mob mentality is a crime

It's a crime we're all guilty of

It causes us to judge to love to hate and to ignore

We judge our neighbor by an unsaid set of rules we're expected to follow

We love the image of perfection

We hate everything different

We ignore the suffering of those around us

And why we do these awful things?

The mob

The mob we all belong to

The mob we all join

Because we believe that if everyone else does it, it's right

We will judge our friends unworthy if they turn away from the group

We will love those who join and strive for the image

We will hate anything that deviates

We will and have ignored our neighbors suffering

I think ignoring people is the worst we've done and will do

I think it's intentional ignorance that causes the most grief

We ignored the suffering of many populaces in history and have tried to learn from our mistakes

However we are still ignorant and are ignoring the suffering of those around us

People with darker skin are labeled and segregated away from us

People who don't love the 'right' gender are pushed out and denied the right to love

People who are bigger are criticized for not achieving the impossibility of perfection

We not only ignore these people who are much like you and me we encourage the separation from them

If someone is different

We make a group

If someone deviates

We cut off the infected and push them onto themselves

We say that that's inclusion

We say that this is right

And why?

Because the mob said it was so

Because the mass of minds mushed, shoved, and forcibly woven together say that is what is right.

We are all human

We all deserve rights

We all deserve to be ourselves

Unjudged

Indiscriminately accepted

We are all individuals with differences, flaws, and conflicts

We are all a mass of minds mushed, shoved, and forcibly woven together

We are all citizens of this planet

And we all should accept that reality

We should not, however force others to think as we do

Force them into becoming something they are not

Into becoming a shadow of yourself

And we all, every single one of us should accept that we as humans are different, and the same

To destroy ignorance, and hate, and judgment, and even the over love on one thing.

To destroy this stupid mob mentality

And become what we all are,

Human
