Dreams

Combination of imagination and memory.

Dreaming's cryptic tellings withheld in its neural threading.

Woven over like a wicker basket is, in the mind's design.

Intricate like the labyrinth of Daedalus,

Hidden within, glimpses and images salient to us.

Archived perceptions entangled in a matrix,

The bits and pieces which make up memory's mosaic.

A fabrication like a magnificent tapestry

And awash with most beautiful menagerie.

The abstract and all manner of things.

Envisioned sights ne'er before seen,

Unrealized feelings ranging from quaint to serene,

And lastly,

What's imagined and sought to bring to being.

Issued upon nuanced web wrought from depths of thoughts forgotten.

Mind retreats to its mausoleum of undead thought once so trodden.

In sleep we sink deep as consciousness wanders on,

Tossed in subconscious's unabiding echelons,

Erratic and abound with mystery embedded upon.

Seeking meaning to decipher psyche's lexicon,

Thus the birthplace of much of parables, ideals and paragons

And even of gods...
