Senescence

Thoughts swirl in my head, all so scattered and unclear.

Thwarted by memory's vestiges, baffled for how I ended here.

Questions of if's battling regrets, cutting through like sheers.

Crystallized in sadness, stagnated by its grasping jeers.

Existence in dread, seeking for meaning and a will.

Essence misled, only truth is left to adhere.

Innocence shed, faith followed with its tears.

Scars embedded, sutured with sorrow and fears.

Aloft wisp of false happiness to persevere.

Smiles, forced as such, act as vestibule to endear.

Peering over reflection like limp stemmed daffodils.

Vexed by a vapid past, longing to dial back the years.
