False Haven

Mind starts to reminisce, oh the time spent which I'm fated to miss,

Though minutely, of cursed oasis of strangest beauty,

Tender, this Eden's shade upon me, laid, rest, I'd duely seek.

Slowly imposing canopy til no ray breaks through to see.

Flourishing and so pleased, but in soil of hate, rooted deep.

Respite on knolls were blessings, drifting to clueless sleep.

Wake to creeping vines which binded feet, consuming me.

To prevent if I should ever flee; however, suffered dutifully.

Waters less and less replenishing, draining sips of iniquity.

Trudged valleys and crested folds to stave dangers looming.

Poison orchards 'round sightly groves, forbode to ruin me.

Fled false haven for it'd have issued demise eventually.
