I changed the story just a tiny bit, from chapter5 onwards - it just makes it so they've been together for a few months from chapter5

"Rye?!" I said down the phone, he'd finally called me and I was so happy he was okay. Though, the happiness soon faded as he told me what had been going on.

"So you're just giving up?" I questioned, forcing myself not to cry.

"I'm not giving up on you," he said, and I heard his voice crack, "I just- I can't do this right now, Blair's told me off like twice in the past week-"

"So stop fucking the studio off to see me!" I shouted, cutting him off, "I can come and see you when you're done recording or when you've got a day off or- I dunno, any other time."

"That's all good until he pulls me aside and basically says he's gonna tell my dad if I don't sort it out," he said, and I ran a hand through my hair, why was he not seeing this? We didn't have to break up to sort this.

"Then sort it! But sorting it shouldn't mean not seeing each other!" I yelled. I felt tears threatening to fall, so I spoke quietly, "but whatever. Do what you have to." I hung up before I let the tears roll down my cheeks.

How could he do that? How could he just throw it all away? I understood that his dad couldn't find out, and I understood that RoadTrip needed to be his priority but I was happy with that, we didn't need to break up for that to happen.

I let myself cry into my pillow, ignoring the calls and texts coming through from him. When I finally picked up my phone, I deleted all the missed calls and I scrolled past his text thread. Jackie😊. I started typing a message to him but stopped in the middle of it, clicking the Call button on the top of the screen.

"Babe, I'm sorry," he said as he picked up.

"It's not your fault, is it?" I said, urging my voice to stay steady.

"I guess not but I kinda feel like shit," he said and I chuckled a little, "but hey, I have a little surprise for you."

I raised a brow, wondering what he had planned, "what are you doing?" I asked, and as i did, I heard a car door slam shut through the phone, "where are you?"

He hung up without answering my question and I heard a knock on the front door. Surely not? I cautiously went to the stairs, peering down to see my mum open the door. "Hi," she said curiously.

"Sorry, I'm Jack, I work with-"

"Jack!" I cut him off, running down the stairs and jumping into his arms, "I can't believe you!"

He wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me up as I kissed his cheek. "I thought you might want some chocolate and ice cream," he chuckled, then added, "and sweets... and your favorite Irish person?"

"That's exactly what I wanted," I smiled as he set me down, my feet touching the floor again as I looked at him, "you are the best person in the world, you know that?"

He smirked proudly, "I had a hunch."

"Did you speak to Ryan then?" my mum asked, and I realised I hadn't spoken to her since about 8:30 when I couldn't get hold of Rye.

"Yeah, I'll explain that later," I mumbled, looking between my mum and Jack, "but I think a movie night is in order.."

I pulled Jack through to the kitchen and he emptied his backpack out onto the counter, smirking at me. "I hope you're in the mood for chocolate."

"Did you buy a whole shop? Oh my god," I laughed, looking at the huge pile of sweets and chocolates, and two tubs of ice cream, that fell out of his bag.
