I felt better once i'd spoken to Jack after work, we were on the phone for almost two hours and he helped me out quite a lot. He made me realise that i did wanna speak to Ryan tonight, but wanting to speak to him and actually pressing the call button were two very different things.
After another half hour of procrastination, i finally clicked that little button next to Rye's name - it barely rang - he picked up within a second. I chuckled a little and he joined me, "i probably should've let it ring out for a sec, huh?"
"Nah, i like how much you miss me," i smirked, and i'd meant it to sound sarcastic but i really fucking meant it. He missed me, he'd been waiting for that call maybe all night.
"I really do," he said softly, "i was a fucking idiot yesterday."
"You can say that again," i rolled my eyes.
"I was a fucking idiot yesterday," he repeated, "and i might've ruined one of the best things i've ever had but if i've got even the slightest chance of getting that back, of getting you back.." he sighed into the phone, "i'll do anything."
I paused, he wasn't going to get away that easily. There had to be something he could do to prove he still cared.
"What made you realise you were an idiot?"
"I missed you like crazy - i figured that if i have you, i can take whatever shit Blair or my dad gives me," he said slowly, carefully, "i'm sorry, i was wrong yesterday, i was completely and utterly and hopelessly wrong. Please let me try and make it up to you."
I smiled a little at his words, at least he'd finally realised. I bit my lip, "what time is band stuff tomorrow?"
"Like 6, because we've gotta wait for Jack to finish work," he told me and i smiled.
"So are you free til then?"
"Til 5; picking Jack up."
"So you can pick me up in the morning," i said, sitting down on my bed.
"Definitely, what time?"
"Nine?"
"Perfect," he said and i heard his smile as he did.
"Good."

I got a good luck text from Jack and smiled, sending a 'thanks boo😘' as i headed downstairs. I was wearing my favorite jeans, my favorite shirt and my favorite hoodie that i'd definitely stolen from Rye at some point.
I left my mum a little note explaining where i was going as she was already in work, and just as i put the pen down, i heard a knock on the door. I waited a moment, as to not look desperate, and when i opened the door, i couldn't even see him. There was a huge teddy bear covering his face, and that teddy bear was holding a huge bunch of flowers. I couldn't help but smile. I peeked over the teddy's shoulder and looked at Ryan, "who are these for?"
"They're for my favorite girl in the world," he said softly and handed me the teddy bear. I took him with a smile and hugged him tight, leading Rye into the kitchen.
I put the flowers in a vase and looked over at Rye, still clutching the bear, "thank you," i smiled.
He smiled back, thankful that i wasn't too pissed at him, "you're welcome; anything you want."
I looked down and smiled to myself before deciding i needed to take my new teddy bear upstairs, i headed up to my room, followed by Rye. I lay him in bed, then sat on the end of it and looked up.
"I have another little surprise," Rye smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah?" i chuckled, "what is it?"
"You have to come with me to see," he told me and i tilted my head, wondering whether to trust him. He held his hand out and i hesitated but took it, letting him lead me downstairs and out to his car. "Don't worry, you'll like it," he reassured as we got in and he started the engine.
He was right. As he pulled up into the car park, he smiled as he saw my face light up. I didn't know how he knew, or if he knew, but he'd just brought me to my favorite place on earth. We got out of the car and i linked my arm with his excitedly as we walked in.
We spent hours in the Aquarium, walking around the whole place at least twice, just in case we'd missed something the first time.
Rye's POV
I genuinely couldn't believe i almost fucked this up. I hoped and prayed she'd forgive me, especially after bringing her here; she'd barely said a word the whole time but it had been perfect. Watching that smile light her face up as she watched the fish swimming around, that smile widening when they swam up to her face next to the glass. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of her, she was beautiful, i had to capture the moment before i lost it.
As we were coming to the end of our second trip around the place, i realised something. I realised something big. And i couldn't let her go. I watched her in awe as she admired the sharks above us seeming to have a race. I couldn't take my eyes off her, and i needed her to be mine again, to still be mine. I'd fallen for her. Fuck, i'd fallen hard for her. What did i do now?
"Look at that one," she whispered, pointing to a little shark who looked like he was defending his home - a little rock behind him.
I chuckled and pulled her close to me, "he's fighting for his rock."
"Yeah, he is," she smiled, looking at me.
"Just like i'm fighting for mine," i said, and i knew it was cheesy but it was true, she was the best thing to ever happen to me and i needed her to know that. She smirked and raised her brow at me, making me chuckle, "I'm serious. I honestly don't know know what i'd do without you. Like, i really don't know what i was thinking last night."
"Rye.." she said softly, her hands running softly through my hair.
"I- I love you." I spoke slowly, quietly, and she looked up at me with a smile. It took her moment to speak, she just looked at me with that beautiful smile of hers.
"I love you too."
