I couldn't lie, I was a little worried about seeing Mr. Beaumont today. What if Rye had told him? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't appreciate an employee dating his son.
All seemed normal when I got there, and I went straight to Jack to tell him everything, from the fancy restaurant to the price of the bill to the studio to the kiss.
"He was so sweet," I said happily, leaning against a table as I remembered the night before.
"You're glad you agreed to go with him then?" Jack chuckled, "and have you spoke to Beaumont yet?"
"Definitely. And no, not yet, I'm kind of scared, what if he knows? He's not going to be happy, is he? His son going out with his employee..." I bit my lip, thinking about what to do or say if he mentioned it, but I was brought out of my thoughts by a pair of arms snaking around my waist from behind.
"He'd kill me before he killed you, babe," Rye whispered in my ear before giving my cheek a quick kiss, "he doesn't even know I was out last night."
I smirked and spun around in his arms, throwing my arms around his neck, "what are you doing here?" I pressed a teasing kiss to his lips.
"Well, I know my dad's out for the morning, so I thought I'd come see you," he smirked, kissing my forehead before looking at Jack, "also... I wanted to ask something."
"Me? What?" Jack questioned, confused. I'd maybe left one detail out about the night before.
"She didn't tell you, then?" Rye chuckled and spoke slowly, "I'm in a band who are actually looking for one more member. And I happened to hear that you can sing. I was going to ask if you'd like to sort of have a little trial with us? I'd have to speak to our manager first, but if you're interested.."
Jack raised a brow at me and I couldn't tell what he was thinking, I gave him an innocent smile and he looked back at Rye. "Uh, yeah. That sounds pretty cool, I'd be up for it. And no she didn't tell me," he laughed.
The two swapped numbers to get in touch and Rye turned to me and winked, "I'll text you too, don't worry, Sweet."
I couldn't help but smirk as he wrapped an arm around my waist, his fingertips dancing at the hem of my shirt. "You'd better."
Jack and I had a productive morning as Rye stepped in and helped us with what we had to do. By the time the boss got back, just before dinner, me and Jack had both done a full day's work. He called us both into the office.
"You two have been exceptional today. I'm going to give you both the rest of the day off, and i'll see you in the morning," he smiled.
"Sir, thank you, but we can't take all the credit," Jack started.
"Ryan has been helping all morning," I explained.
"Very well, then I need to speak to my son too," he said, ushering us out, "you two can still go early, don't worry."
Me and Jack said our thank yous and Beaumont called Rye into his office. We waited for him after we got our things and he walked out of the office beaming. "You guys are too kind, I'm definitely in his good books again," he smiled.
"Do we want to know why you weren't?" I chuckled and he shook his head with a laugh, "probably not."
Rye spoke to his manager, Blair, and arranged for Jack to go with him and have a little meeting, "you'll probably meet the others, if that's alright. There's Andy, Brooklyn and Mikey."
Jack nodded and I could see he was a little excited about the whole thing.
Because he insisted, Rye took me home before taking Jack to see the guys and I said my goodbyes and good luck's.
