Maddie’s POV
“I’m back!” I yelled as I closed the front door behind me, making my way to the living room. “What did you guys do while I was gone?”
“Shhhhhhh” said Niall as soon as I walked into the room.
Genevieve was curled up in Niall's lap. The TV was on low and the place was a disaster
“She fell asleep about two hours ago and I don’t want to wake her. I haven’t peed since you left and its killing me” he said trying not to wake up Genevieve.
“Just push her off, she sleeps like a rock. She can crash here for the night. You want to stay too?” I asked taking off my heels and walking across the room to turn of the thriller movie playing on the television. Horror movies had never been my thing, too scary for my liking.
“No thanks that’s fine” he said carefully lifting Genevieve off his lap and placing her back on the couch.
He placed a blanket on top of her and followed me out of the room towards the kitchen. We both sat down in the breakfast nook and I poured two glasses of orange juice.
“So want to talk about what happened on the date that was so horrible?” asked Niall.
“What? Why do you say that?” I asked.
“Well I know a hurt expression when I see one and something definitely went wrong tonight“ he replied.
Before I could help myself I blurted out everything that was on my mind and what was happening with Liam. Niall was Genevieve’s friend and not someone who I usually hung out with but I poured my heart out to him right then and there.
“Maddie, I’ve known Liam for a really long time now, and this is just the way he is. He comes back eventually. Just let him go to Africa and by the time he comes back everything will be exactly the same. My family friend Harry is coming over tomorrow for a visit and if you want to come with Genevieve and me, that would be great. It would take your mind off of Liam leaving” said Niall.
“Yeah thanks it would” I said getting up and bringing the now empty glasses to the sink.
Niall got up from the table and opened the front door. He gave me a wave and slipped out.
