Remembering.

Chapter 5

Harry’s POV

                She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I just met her but I already knew I wanted her. We were in Niall's car on the way to the Zoo. Maddie was in the passenger seat faintly singing along to the radio. The sun was shining down on her and making the freckles on her face glow. She was perfect, and something I couldn’t have.

                Genevieve and i were friends. I knew all about Maddie and Liam. It was not something I liked to think about, but I did know she had a boyfriend when I made those cheeky comments earlier. Why did she have to have a boyfriend? I guess it was just something I would have to live with. I just couldn’t get her out of my head.

                “Are you coming?” said Niall snapping me out of my day dream.

                We were already parked and both him and Maddie were out of the car ready to leave.

                “Yes, coming” I said grabbing my coat and closing the door.

                “So I was thinking we could see the Emu’s first. They are my favourite animal” Maddie said, walking beside Niall.

                “Great idea” I said from behind.

                “And then we could go see the zebras and lions, oh yeah and don’t forget about the polar bears, they are so cute. And then maybe we could go for lunch because I'm starving and haven’t eaten since breakfast”.

                “Yeah yeah” said Niall. “Hold your horses we will get to everything. Whatever you think we should do will be great. But I am all for lunch being before seeing any of the animals”.

                The afternoon went by in a blur. The same thing over and over. Maddie by the Emu’s looking beautiful. Maddie by the lions looking gorgeous. Maddie by the zebras looking amazing. I needed the afternoon to end and quick before I made a move that I knew I would regret.

                “I just love the Zoo!” Maddie said ecstatically. “Genevieve and I used to go to camps at the one back in Toronto. That was always a fun time. Don’t you like the Zoo Harry?”

                Before I could answer Niall’s phone rang.

                “Oh hey Genevieve… Yeah sure we are almost done anyway… No problem I will tell her… Ok bye love” Niall hung up the phone and shoved it back into his pocket. “Maddie, Genevieve says hi and that she is coming to pick you up now because she has things to do tonight and this is the only time she can”.

                “Oh ok, sounds good” Maddie said. “I will just go meet her at the front. Thanks for the great time boys”.

                Maddie went over and hugged Niall then came over to me and looked hesitant but then gave me a big hug. I hugged her back and took in her scent. She smelled of strawberry shampoo and I didn’t want to let her go but after a few seconds she pulled away. As she walked away I discreetly stared at her ass.

                “Dude” said Niall hitting me over the head.

                I guess I wasn’t as discreet as I thought.

                “Come on lover boy, we still have the baboons and the bird exhibit to see” said Niall turning round and walking away.

                “Was it that obvious?” I asked running to catch up with him.

                “You were drooling over her all afternoon. I'm surprised she didn’t notice and request a restraining order” he said opening the door to the bird exhibit and walking inside.

                “Yeah well it will never happen, she has Liam and as long as she still loves him I would never make a move” I replied.

                Niall's phone rang for a second time.

                “Hello?... Yes I know her… What do you mean ‘some sort of accident’… Hospital?... Ok I'm coming” he hung up the phone and started to look worried.

“Who was that?” I asked starting to get worried myself.

“It was a paramedic, Genevieve and Maddie have been in a car crash and are on their way to the hospital now” said Niall, his face going white as a sheet

With that he grabbed my arm and we ran out of the exhibit as fast as we could.
