Genevieve’s POV

I woke up early that morning stiff and groggy. I guess I fell asleep on the couch and Niall just left me there. It was something I had done many times before. I lifted myself off the couch and walked across to the kitchen. Maddie was already there eating waffles at the table.

“Hello” I said in a monotone voice as I walked over to the cupboard and pulled out the lucky charms I knew she always had stashed away.

“You don’t seem very happy” said Maddie finishing off what looked like her 4th waffle.

“Well I never was a morning person, and no one seemed to wake me from the couch so I'm just a bit sore” I said pouring the milk into my bowl.

“Oh sorry I didn’t think you would mind” Maddie said putting her plate into the sink. “So, um… Niall invited me to come with you to visit Harry”.

‘Crap’ I thought. I completely forgot about that. It was not something I was looking forward too. Harry was my friend too, but seeing someone that cheeky this early in the morning could never be good.

“You know what. You and Niall can go by yourselves. I think I might just go home and take a long nap. If you don’t mind” I said.

After a long pause from Maddie she nodded her head and took her plate to the sink.

“It’s just Niall is your friend not mine. Don’t you think it will be awkward?” asked Maddie.

“No you will be fine” I replied grabbing my purse up off the floor. “Just watch out for Harry, he’s cheeky. I’ll call Niall in the car and tell him what’s happening. Don’t worry I will pick you up from his house this afternoon so you won’t have to spend a lot of time there” she gave me a half hearted smile and started to walk up the stairs. “Just go, it will be good for you”.

And with that I left the house, giving her a final hug as I went.
