Genevieve’s POV
It had been a long few days in the hospital. Niall had come and gone, making sure I was okay, and bringing me whatever I needed. I was weak, something I was sure of. The doctors never talked to me straight, I would just hear snippets. One night, a few days ago, when I didn’t even have the strength to eat my meal I heard Niall talking to someone outside. I shut off my music and quietly listened in.
“She needs to become healthier, she hardly eats her meals, and we can’t keep her in the hospital any longer. Does she have any family that can take her in? Someone she could rely on to help her get healthier?”
“Just me and her cousin, who seems to be unreachable lately. I can take her in and care for her. When will she be able to come home?”
“Tomorrow she is able to leave. We will give you a scheduled meal plan, and all her medication. The Goss on her left arm has to be changed every few hours due to the gash, and she needs to drink lots of water”.
“I will take care of her doctor, don’t worry”.
I never got to hear the end of that conversation because Niall and the doctor finished talking while walking down the hall. I was fine with Niall taking care of me. Actually I was overjoyed with that fact that him and I would be spending all this time together, and no longer as ‘just friends’. I hadn’t heard from Maddie since the day I woke. I missed her, I was worried that she may be in more trouble than she could handle. Niall had told me everything that happened, I was pissed at Harry, but knowing him, he would have me convinced it was the best idea next time I saw him.
“Hey Genevieve, can we talk?” said Niall walking into the room and waking me from my daydream.
“What’s up?” I replied scooting over in the bed and making room for him.
He sat down beside me and looked me in the eyes.
“They are letting you leave today, we just have to sign some paperwork and you can come home with me”.
“That’s awesome!” I said getting out of the bed and hobbling across the room, still attached to the IV. “I seriously need to get out of these hospital gowns, they remind me of being in a nursing home and the pale blue does nothing for my skin tone”.
“You're full of it” Niall said walking over and wrapping me in a bear hug.

We had got out of the hospital in no time and it had only taken us a few minutes to drive to Niall's apartment. When we got in the apartment was a mess. Clothes and food everywhere and nothing in place.
“Why are all the lights off?” I asked as I walked toward the only light on which was the TV Niall's room.
“I’m not sure” he replied as he opened the door and turned on the over head light. “Harry? What the hell are you doing sitting in the dark watching ‘Love Actually’?”
Harry was in the middle of Niall's bed, wrapped in blankets, with a box of tissues and a bowl of half eaten popcorn.
“You’ve officially turned into more of a girl then I am” I said sitting down next to him and pulling him into a hug.
“I just don’t get it” Harry said starting to cry. “I thought she had started to fall for me and forget her feelings for Liam. She’s perfect for me Genevieve! Convince her to stay with me” he started to sob on my shoulder and I looked over at Niall for help but he had already started digging into the leftover popcorn and was no help.
“This is not my decision Harry, its Maddie’s, you need to accept that. When you love something let it go. And most defiantly don’t sit in a room watching a romantic comedy in the dark by yourself”.
“You're right” Harry said. “I will clean myself up, and when Maddie decides who she is choosing I will be able to spring to her side and congratulate her for choosing the right choice of me”.
“No, actually Harry, that’s not what I was getting at”.
“It’s okay Genevieve, I read between the lines. I will pull myself together for Maddie. Right after this part, it’s my favourite.
I rolled my eyes and got up from the bed following Niall out of the room.
