BILLIE'S SILENCE
"We don't have any magic to help us, with this. This is unheard of, for an angel to have fallen but still remain pure. She- her back has two gaping holes right where wings should go. There were feathers on the floor- this is-" Magnus stopped talking when he couldn't form words anymore. All this time, here she was an angel just sleeping in his bed.
Isaac closed his spell book and looked up at the group. "Theres no telling when she could wake up. Maybe she's getting all her memories back, and won't wake up till it's over. But that could take- a long time."
He went on as Simon took one of Billie's hands to hold in his. There was a silence between everyone in the infirmary. What were they going to do now? The world still turns, and Valentine is still up to no good. It just didn't feel right to leave her here.
"Where is she? I need to see her! She needs me! I can't leave her alone! Please! Let me in!" A harsh voice sounded outside of the infirmary. The gang didn't know who it was, seeing as everyone that cared about Billie was already in the room and was here yesterday.
There was a short lived argument, and then silence. Everyone looked to the door and when it opened they were met with an unfamiliar face. Alec and Jace got into defensive mode and kept their new visitor from getting to close.
He didn't have any runes, he looked human. But he would'd have gotten through if he was just a regular human. And what did he want with Billie?
"Look, I need to see her. Sh- She needs my help. Just let me through." He started pleading with them but the two boys didn't budge. Who's to say he wasn't planning something evil? The guy sighed and then out of his back, his white wings began to spread.
The boys were taken back, and stood out of his way immediately. Everyone did, but not Simon. He just kept on holding onto Billie. "You can help her?" Simon asked him, not understanding the significance of another angel in the room. All he wanted was for Billie to get better.
"Yes, I can help her." He put shortly, standing above her and examining her. His eyes searched her face, for any sign of emotion. And he looked at the blood slowly seeping into the bed sheets she was underneath. "Her wings aren't growing back yet. Somethings holding her back."
-
"Dina I am not the person you should be yelling at! You should scream at yourself for doing that to one of our own! And for trying to get away with it and act like it was an accident! If you would have opened up bout it then maybe you wouldn't deserve this, but you do. For tempting the dark side, you get what you've always wanted. To go down there and live amongst the downworlders."
His voice was sharp, and his eyes didn't seem to be filled with anger. But it was filled with happiness and content. He wanted me gone, for why I don't know.
"If it means being away from you, I'll take it." My voice, I sounded so - stressed. But how could I kill someone and act like I didn't! I didn't like this person that I was, not one bit. I was able to cover up a murder, and act like nothing happened?
-
"She's breathing, and her heart rate isn't heightened. She's not experiencing anything that would put her in a bad way. I have to get back up there and figure out why the hell they won't bring her back. Simon keep an eye on her for me?" The man put, like had had known Simon. Or in that fact, that he had known all of them.
"Absolutely." Simon answered quickly and put all his attention into Billie.
"Who are you, exactly? I mean if you don't mind me asking." Isaac curiously questioned him before the man could leave their sights. With his back turned to the group, he chuckled and faced them halfway.
"Uriel. I'm the one who looked out for her while she lived down here."
-
"Do you have anything to say before we banish you? An apology? A revelation? Anything?" I couldn't see anything. I heard that voice before in my head. It was calling for some woman named Dina. But I had nothing to do with-
I was Dina?
"So be it. Dina, the angel of learning, you are now and for the foreseen future banished from heaven. Your wings will be taken from you and so will your powers. You will remain pure, in blood, but you will not remember us. Nor your life up here."
I heard my scream from all around me.
My wings? Heaven?
What the hell did I do?
-
"Why would they banish her from heaven? She- what could an angel do to be banished from heaven?" Isaac asked himself, but it was loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. Simon sighed, while Jace and Alec paces silently around the room.
Magnus kept his eyes on his friend. She was a light in his life, a good person. She didn't deserve any of this. To loose who she was, to be cast out. No one did.
Billie's body eyes shot open, but they were glazed over and white. Like they were when she was stuck in that training room, screaming her heart out.
"Billie?" Magnus held onto her other hand, the one not being occupied by Simon. When she didn't respond, his heart ached for her.
"Dina, the angel of learning. I created a monster! Please, don't do this. I didn't mean to kill him! I'm sorry! Don't tell anyone what I did, I'll do anything! I'm so tired, of doing this. I want it to be over. You set me up!" Her voice sounded in the room, but it sounded nothing like her. She was screaming and whispering, but it was emotionless. It wasn't Billie.
Right then, Uriel barged through the doors. Everyone's heads snapped to where he was and followed as he ran over to Billie and cradled her head in his hands. "Dina I need you to listen to me, they aren't going to help you! You need to let go of them, it's the only way I can save you! They won't bring you back, they won't listen. Dina, I need you to wake up! Stop remembering!"
A single gasp was heard in the room. And that's when her eyes returned back to normal and she sat up quickly. "I remember! I- I'm not- I'm not human! I- I'm an angel! I had wings! I- They casted me out. They don't- they sent me away."
She sobbed, her body shaking in fear. Uriel held on to her tightly, as she still held onto Simon's hand. "Dina, I'm so glad to see you."
