BILLIE CARES TO EXPLAIN

"My name is Dina, I'm the angel- was the angel of learning. I actually watched some of you from up there. Magnus, Raphael. But um, something went wrong. Or I did something- I killed someone up there. And it remained a secret, I kept it a secret. Until someone found out, another angel, and they- he made me do his biddings. When I was banished, it wasn't for my crime. It was for his. But no one knew that I was to blame, so when they ordered me to go, I did." I explained to them, but I knew I didn't sound the same.

It wasn't Billie anymore. It was Dina, or almost all of Dina.

"I know what I did was wrong, and I wish that I could take it back. But I don't mind that I was cast down, it isn't torture. It's actually a privilege to be down here with the people I watched and learned from." My voice didn't croak, and I didn't stutter on any word.

I looked at them with a heavy heart. I was pretty sure I turned their world upside down, more than usual. Clary looked utterly shocked, along with Simon. While everyone else in the room- who was used to the supernatural, was in awe.

The door to the infirmary busted open and Uriel came in tumbling. "Dina we have to go! Now! If Valentine finds out that he was more than right about your blood, it will be hell on earth." He ran over to me and grabbed my wrist, yanking me up. But I tugged back from him.

"Uriel, I am not running from him. I- I watched him, for years! Nothing about him scares me, especially with my memories back." I snatched my arm away from him and took a step back. "And don't think I don't remember you took my wings."

"Wait you were the one to take her wings? But you said you were looking out for her while she was down here." Clary questioned Uriel and he let it go over his head. He was only looking at me, and speaking to me. Like we were better than them or something. I shook my head at him, taking more steps back.

"You were trying to repent for what you did to me. Look at you! You're on a crusade to get me back, and prove I'm innocent! I'm not innocent, I did those things! I remember. So don't try to-" I ranted on to him as I felt a hand pull me back further from him. I was to focused at yelling that I couldn't tell who it was.

"Gabriel confessed!" The room fell silent, and I gasped. Uriel nodded his head and went on. "When the elders found out about what you were doing, and sent you down here, Gabriel went back to committing those crimes. And they caught him. But they feel guilty that they casted you down, they don't know what to do."

I let go of the hand holding mine and joined Uriel by his side. "I don't want to go back. Uriel I will never go back. I killed Orel, and they never found out! If I were to go back up there, they'd find out and who knows where they'll cast me next. It's best that I don't go back home. Or that I don't have my wings."

"You killed Orel? You were the one who-" Before he could accuse me, I felt the bones in my back move. Which made me scream and reach behind me. "Dina, what did you do?" I looked at him in confusion between the pain.

I couldn't answer him back as the movement stopped with one final pain. And then my wings spouted before me, but it was something I could never imagine. Instead of the wings I was used to, the ones I was born with, they were turning black.

I could see the feathers at the top fading into that darkness I tried to escape. The jet black feathers reached all the way down to my feet. This was it, it's what I deserved. My wings spread fully and I saw several white feathers fall to the floor gently.

"Looks like Im no longer pure, so Valentine is out of the picture. Anyone want to get some drinks?"
