When I awoke it took a moment to realise what had happened, it only really sunk in properly when I realised my hands were tied and my necklace was gone. We had been caught and the necklace had been taken, 'Well we're not going to be going to Tokyo for a while it seems' I thought looking a Mikayla who was still unconscious. It seemed to take forever for Mikayla to wake up, during that time I was trying to untie my hands which were once tied behind my back but easy brought to the front. Unfortunately, I was unable to reach the knot however that did not stop me from undoing Mikayla's hands.
'It seems they are not really prepared for this whole kidnap which is odd considering they were hired specifically for it...' my thought was derailed when Mikayla finally stirred. "I feel like I've been hit by a bus," she groaned.
"Not exactly, but you were knocked out by someone," I reply voice chipper.
"Why are your hands tied up?" she asked looking at her hands in confusion.
"Well, both of our hands were tied up but I untied yours so now only mine are tied, so please feel free to untie mine," I said with a deadpanned look.
"Oh... Sorry let me just," she said reaching out to untie my hands. Next, we both got to work on untying our feet before standing up to look around for some way out of the room.
"Just letting you know I have no weapons and I cannot do hand to hand so I am pretty useless at this point," I said casually whilst trying to pick the door which was locked with one of the many bobby pins in my hair. I open the door the easily when I hear the lock click, and I shove hard.
"Why the shove?" Mikayla asked as we walked out.
"For that..." I say easily gesturing to the guy knocked out behind the door I had just opened.
She openly stared as I walked past, "How did you know he would be there?" the genuine confusion showing openly.
"Whilst I cannot summon my friends without the weapons my connection remains so I can slightly use elements," I explained as I lead her towards the main area.
"So you're not useless without your necklace!" she exclaimed in easy triumph.
"Hmm... It is not enough to attack with them I'm currently not moving the wind just looking at what it already sees," I explained as we run.
"Still not useless, it is after all the way we are finding the weapon," she shoved me in the shoulder playfully.
"Oh actually I always know where the necklace is, it was explained as a failsafe that should the rightful user be separated they can always find it," I admit uncaring as I slammed open a door knocking out the guard. I ignored her shock instantly running towards a safe in the center of the room, leaving her to guard the door I instantly start cracking the combination.
"So, when were you going to tell me you could pick locks and open safes?" she asked lightly.
"My parents are major thieves these lessons were snuck into my schedule as something I should just know," I admit uncomfortable as I recover the necklace from the rest of the jewelry and cash, and quickly replace it on my neck.
"You didn't question it at all? I know you're smart enough to know that is weird..." Mikayla countered.
"Lockpicking in case I was kidnapped and safecracking was just counted among the extended lessons in lock picking. Anyway, I was always taught not to questions things so I didn't consider actually asking my parents why," I admit easily dragging her towards where I knew the exit was. I didn't miss that so far I have only seen Japanese men, 'So we have been taken by the Yakuza, oh well at least we can still check out Akihabara' I thought as we exited the building on to the streets of Kyoto. Someone tries to grab us as we leave but for his trouble, a thin slice lined his arm from the rapier that had suddenly appeared in my hand.
A hiss escapes the figure and he steps out behind us, surprisingly it was a teenage boy which whilst that wasn't uncommon he looked distinctly not Asian. I stand ready in case he tries anything but Mikayla has somehow acquired bandages and is wrapping his bleeding arm. I sigh as the rapier seems to fade in the wind causing the teen to look at me in shock. I ignore this in favour of pulling both Mikayla and him away from the entrance to the building as soon as his arm is bandaged. We soon arrive back to our hotel to find we had been missing for only one day thankfully, as soon as we arrived back to our room I turned on the teen.
"So who are you and why did you try and grab us?" I asked almost distractedly in Italian as I started to pack my bags in record time.
"Umm..." he trailed confused.
"As we were leaving!" I announce in annoyance still in Italian.
"Well, my name is Renato and I grabbed you to ask for help, I was lost and you seemed to know where you were," he explained sheepishly.
"Well, what did you need help with," Mikayla asked making me slam my palm into my face.
"Mikki! He is Italian, admittedly cute and very much our age. Honestly though who do you think the people we are running from would send," I said with a groan.
"Yeah it wouldn't be an Italian, I mean isn't that a bit too obvious?" she asked before turning to Renato obviously waiting for his answer.
"Well I was going to ask for help returning to my hotel and I had seen you a couple of days ago leaving but we are at the hotel so I'm just going to leave," he says and instantly runs from the room obviously freaked out a little from our conversation.
"Well that went well," Mikayla commented, my palm instantly went to my face in annoyance.
"Yes, well you need to pack as we're going to Akihabara in Tokyo," I say uncaring as I walk to the phone to call the hotel I had in mind from my searching a few days ago. I was worried though, 'He said we looked like we knew we were going and then he said he had seen us at the hotel' I thought as I spoke to the receptionist about our rooms whilst we are there.
"I'm done packing can we leave yet?" she asked just as I hung up the phone.
"Yes, however, look out for people following us," I say before grabbing my bags and going to check out handing in the keys. Next, I brought us to the train before buying tickets and leading her to the correct train.
