"Thank you for coming" Toby said taking Spencer's hand.

They sat there neither one speaking. Spencer kept meaning to excuse herself but she couldn't bear to say the words and relinquish Toby's hand.

"Mr. Cavanaugh?" A nurse said coming into the waiting room. "Ms. Philips is awake and she's asking for you."

The nurse eyed their clasped hands and Spencer immediately pulled her hand from his.

"I'll stop by later" Spencer said as they both stood.

Toby walked as quickly as he could to Yvonne's room.

"Toby?" Yvonne said sleepily.

"I'm here baby" Toby said kissing her forehead.

"What happened?" She asked.

"We were in a car accident"

Yvonne looked at Toby to see a cast and walking stick.

"You're hurt?"

"I'm healing and so are you" Toby assured her.

"Alright Ms. Philips, I just wanted to do some neuro checks." The doctor looked in her eyes with a flash light. "Can you move your hands, even if it's only a little?"

After a few seconds had passed Yvonne moved first her right hand and then her left.

"Good" he said pulling her blankets and sheets from the bottom of the bed. "Can you move your feet?"

Again a few seconds passed before each door moved a tiny bit.

"Good" He said again "I'm going to send someone from physical therapy to give you some exercises and I'll be back to check on you shortly."

"You're doing so great" Toby beamed at Yvonne as she put the ball from one hand to another. A light knock on the door caused both of them to turn their heads to see Spencer walking in with a floral arrangement that said "Get Well Soon"

"Spencer" Yvonne said with a smile "thank you for visiting but shouldn't you be resting"

"I told her what happened" Toby explained

"All I have been doing is resting, I was going stir crazy" Spencer said "I wanted to wish you well but I did have an ulterior motive for coming by. I wanted to talk to Toby about the shooting, if you don't mind?"

"Please, I've been looking at him all day. I'm practically sick of him" she joked. As Toby and Spencer stepped out of the room a nurse came in.

"Has she been here all day?" The nurse asked motioning to Spencer.

"What do you mean? She just got here" Yvonne asked.

"She was here this morning in the waiting room with your fiancé. They were together when you woke up."

"Toby didn't mention she had been here earlier" Yvonne admitted.

"They used to be a couple right?" The nurse asked nonchalantly as if she didn't know.

"Yeah, they were high school sweethearts"

"That's right I knew that" she said "I was working here when they brought her in from that god awful dungeon. He was by her side practically the whole time. It sure was something seeing them together. Still is."

When Toby returned he was alone. The nurse left claiming to be giving them privacy.

"What did she want" Yvonne asked an edge now in her voice.
