A look of shock crossed Bendy's face as he nearly spat out his drink in surprise. "You really do? But why? Don't you have to take care of your restaurant and all?"

"I have an 'issue' that kinda limits me to cooking as a chef." I quickly darted my eyes to Cuphead in a way of telling him that I didn't want them to know about last night.

"I can make my fellow chefs take care of the job for now. I need a long break, anyways. More adventure and danger is what I really need these days."

"This quest won't be very short, possibly would take more than weeks! Are you sure, Miss (Y/N)? It won't be easy." Boris wanted to confirm. Although there's this strong attachment from my heart and my restaurant, there's so much more for me out there.

Cooped up in a kitchen for twelve hours and a forty-five-minute break and having to deal with the ink illness constantly is a pain.

"Hey, if you don't mind me asking; what's this issue you keep talking about? Or rather, hinting at?" Felix asked. "You will find out eventually. It's just that it's pulling me back from work and it's a constant pain to deal with. And I know that joining you would possibly fix that, wouldn't it?"

He seemed to put more thought into it, and a look of realization hit him in a snap.

"Y-you-!" He said. "What?" Boris, Bendy and Mugman asked simultaneously. He quickly shook his head. Luckily for me, he was smart enough to find out on his own with the small hints I gave away. He also knew I didn't feel comfortable with it.

I shoved the final item I needed into my bag. Toiletries, extra garments, clothing, two small daggers, a sleeping bag paired with a mat, everything you would need for a journey.

Determined to assist them to save the world from within the inky grasps of death, I looked at my bedroom one final time. I wouldn't be here much longer, neither would I be working. I would be on an exciting yet dangerous quest; anything to free the innocent lives nearing their ends. They wouldn't fall into the inky abyss we called death.

Then, would I only be able to avenge my family of their miserable deaths, and hopefully end the suffering of those who had caught it.

I took my final steps out the room, which would soon gather dust.

"Are you ready to go, (Y/N)?" Felix asked, flashing me a closed-eyed grin. We were ready for the journey that awaited us right outside that door, all of us were filled to the brim with excitement. Well, except for Cuphead.

I really didn't understand him. Sometimes he would act so strange around Bendy, as if he was pretending to be his friend, like earlier today at breakfast. It just seemed so, fake. Yet, last night, he willingly helped me clean up my inky mess as I rested. As if he had two faces, an alter ego.

"I'm ready to go. Where are we heading off to now?" I asked, lifting the straps of my backpack.

"It'll be a long walk from here to Gale Forest. We'll camp there, then continue to Mountain Bulk, where one of the ink machine pieces lie." He explained. I only stood there confused; ink machine pieces?

"Oh, right! You don't know what I'm talking about, do you? The ink machine is the only known cure to the ink illness, made a long long time ago to save those in need. Once we thought the illness had vanished, it had returned. Thus, we had to repair the ink machine and find all the missing pieces. Only Bendy and Boris are able to see the map, though." Felix talked as if this was a book of fantasy, it sounded surreal.

Yet, here I was.

"Are you done explaining to (Y/N)? Because we don't have time to waste." Cuphead scoffed impatiently. "Yeah, I understand now. You're right, we should do this as soon as possible shouldn't we?"

Everyone nodded in agreement and slowly started pooling out the door, all of us following Boris as he lead the way. I was right behind Cuphead, who looked deep in thought; something negative.

I lightly tapped him on the shoulder. "Is something wrong?" I asked with a worrying tone, looking up at his abnormally large red eyes. He shook his head. "It's nothing." He dismissed, before heading out the door with his gloved hands in his pockets.

"Don't worry about it."

We all walked in a line as I watched the skyscrapers from my city vanish from by view, shrinking and fading away into the clouds with each step. Boris in the front, then Mugman, Felix, Bendy, Cuphead and me.

We were all on a hill, travelling on a small path paved by man. I couldn't believe I was really doing this; leaving the city I called home to cure my ink illness and everyone else's miserable suffering.

As our quest starts at Mountain Bulk, the map wasn't really necessary until we reached it. Boris had placed the map into his bag for convenience and security.

Suddenly, I heard some loud breathing coming from someone in front of me. We all turned to face the culprit - it was Bendy and he looked as if he was struggling to take another step.

I saw little black droplets forming on his forehead and in his eyes. Eyes widening in surprise, I watched as they slowly fell to the floor. The black substance was oh-so-familiar to me.

Ink.

He swiftly rushed to hide behind a boulder with a red dripping face.

Bendy. . . he had the ink illness as well?
