"We're back." I said as we walked back to the others. Cuphead scoffed impatiently before he spoke.

"Took ya' long enough. Can we go now?" he said, looking me dead in the eye before his attention was diverted towards Bendy, who was on Felix's back for reasons he didn't know about. Before he could even ask about it, his brother had beaten him to it.

"Bendy, why are you on Felix' back? Is this a piggy-back race, because I'm totally in!" Mugs said with overflowing excitement. He literally threw Boris over his shoulder which took the poor wolf by surprise, releasing a quiet yet audible 'oof' as the air was knocked out of his lungs.

"Let's go, Boris!" Mugs' smile only widened, sounding like an excited little child as he took off with Boris clinging onto Mug's scarf for dear life. Felix and Bendy, or just Felix, wanted to join in the fun. With a couple words, Felix took off with Bendy on his back.

"Not fair!" Felix said, running with the flustered demonic toon on his back. Someone who seemed so mature at times could transform into a childish-sounding man was facinating, really.

Cuphead and I watched as they slowly dissapeared into the distance. I would have like to join them, but unless Cuphead carried me or I carried him, it wouldn't be possible.

"Is this my life now?" I heard Cuphead ponder to himself under his breath with an annoyed expression. He probably thought this was childish. It did look very fun, though.

As the blurry figures slowly dissapeared into seemingly nowhere, something small and furry seemed to paw at my leg. I turned around and looked downwards, to see a black and white cat.

It looked a little like me, but it didn't stand on two paws or know how to talk. It was just a domestic little cat. It had a nametag on it, perhaps it was lost? Where was it's owner? I peered closer to it's collar while soothingly stroking the cat. It said 'FIGARO' printed in golden words.

"Hey Cuphead, I found a cat. What do we do with it?" I asked, all my focus on it's black beady eyes shining in the sunlight with supposed hope.

I turned to face Cuphead with Figaro in my hands to see his reaction, and the sight that greeted me was unexpected. He didn't even reply.9

He looked determined to prove something. Maybe something they had said about him?

Before I knew it, he turned around and bent down a little with his back facing me. "Get on." He said, with a scratchy but slightly demanding tone.

"You really think you could beat them? I can barely see them!" I said, placing Figaro in a comfortable position into my purse which was abnormally large for a purse. "I said, get on! The quicker you get on my back the quicker we beat them!" He said, with the demanding tone in his voice increasing.

I hesitantly jumped on his back and everything flew by with such speed.

I could feel the breeze flowing through my fur, but I managed to pry one paw from Cuphead to Figaro, who looked frightened. Together, we rushed by the other 'racers' as they were literally blown away.

I could barely recognize their features, even. We arrived at a large oak tree as Cuphead turned around dramatically. Cuphead flicked his 'hair' to reveal his arrogant, closed eyes. "I win~!" He said with an arrogant and dramatic tone. He even winked and did this gun-pose with his fingers at the others that arrived just before he did.

I was still clinging on for dear life with one paw on Cuphead and the other on Figaro, who was also shook from the speedy experience.

"Show off. . ." Bendy muttered under his breath. He leaned slightly downwards to allow me to get off his back. I could still feel the kitten shaking.

I stumbled off his back, but I managed to stay on my back paws. Boris got off Mugs as well. "Cuphead! You ran so fast poor little Figaro has swirls in his eyes! Literally!" I said, pointing to the cat that was still sitting in the small water-bottle pocket.

"Where did you find it anyways? It looks like it has an owner!" Felix questioned, staring curiously into the cat's hypnotizing bead-like eyes.

"Its name is Figaro, I think. I found it walking around, it was pawing at my leg. It looked lost, and we were too far away from the city to turn back. . . So I decided to bring it along with us."

Cuphead motioned for me to give him the kitten, in which I carefully handed him the cat. Hopefully he knew how to carry one, the poor thing looked so sad.

"Well, you all have your partners, so this little guy belongs to me and (Y/N). She found it, we keep it. And, his name is Jackpot."

"You can't do that, dumbass! It ain't yours!" Bendy argued, probably concerned for it.

"Finders keepers, bruh." Cuphead replied. I calmly walked over to Cuphead with Figaro, or rather Jackpot in his arms. Figaro was a weird name, and Jackpot did seem more fitting for a cat.

"Whatever! We're far away from Crento City anyways. Let's just find what we're looking for, then try and return that thing to its owner." Boris said, gently placing his paw on Mugs' shoulder before his grasp tightned. "And you! You'll pay for this-!" Boris added, tightening his grip on Mugs as the mug just looked away with a smug grin.

"Mr Felix, you can stop carrying me now, I'm fine! Thank you." Bendy said, removing himself and onto the grass once again. "You sure?" Felix looked at Bendy skeptically with a tint of worry, carefully analyzing any signs that he was lying.

"Yeah, I- urgh. . ." Without even completing his lie, his knees felt weak as he nearly collapsed.  Luckily, Felix caught him before he fell.

"Bendy! Why did you lie to me!" Felix said, pulling Bendy close. He only turned away shyly. "S-sorry, Mr Felix."

"Our break wasn't even that long, Bendy. We can rest a bit longer!" Mugs reasoned, showing genuine worry directed towards him.

"Boris and I will make you some mushroom soup! We actually promised each other we would make it anyways, and now's the perfect time!" Mugs said, snaking an arm around Boris' shoulder.

"Oh get off. I'm only in for my bro." Boris said harshly. I would have never thought this innocent cinnamon roll would have attitude quite like this, he seemed to distrust Mugs for a reason I might not ever know.

"Nah, it's ok guys. I'm not that -" Bendy was rudely interrupted mid-sentence by what seemed to be gurgling. Growling, maybe? It came from his stomach was what I assumed.

". . .Hungry." he finished, as Felix gave him a disappointed look and huffed, looking in the other direction. That's one way to show someone you care for them.

"Felix, don't give Bendy the cold shoulder. . ." I said, sitting beside Felix, elbowing him in the arm gesturing to apologize.

"A-Are you really mad at me?" Bendy said. Felix only scoffed in response again, earning him a harsher elbow but to the ribs instead. "Felix!" I scolded.

Bendy only looked away in shame, tears threatening to spill out of his eyes. The sight of his tears immediately pushed my tail into hitting Felix's tail which was swishing side to side.

I continued to hit his tail with mine, hoping to achieve some sort of complience. Felix only looked at me with sad eyes, before he sighed in surrender.

"Bendy, I'm sorry. I'm not really mad at you, but I just don't like it when you hide things from us. I know you don't trust me,  but don't lie to me." Felix said, feeling the guilt he should have felt a while ago. I smiled in satisfaction.

"N-No, Mr Felix! I do trust you, I trust you a lot actually. I just wanted to make a good first impression on you, I'm sorry." Bendy confessed, playing with his demonic tail, fiddling around with it in his fingers.

"Bendy, you don't have anything to prove. You are easily very likable," he said, pulling Bendy into a warm embrace.

Such a touching moment, but it's a shame I'd have to ruin it.

A bubbling thick substance slowly grew in my throat, and I could practically taste it.
