When there are too many "time skips"
One day I looked into his eyes and fell in love.
2 Day Time skip
He asked me out to dinner.
3 Year Time skip
We got married.
27 Year Time skip
Shit, he died from tuberculosis.
What is this, a documentary?! I get that you skip the unimportant events to make sure that the reader is being entertained but that's what a story is about. They are ment to build up a plot or a message. Using Time skips are fine as long as you do not overuse and don't make them unbelievably long.
