When there are no "quotation marks" around the quotes
You glanced at the girl lying down beside you Are you, okay?
She turns to look at you and flashes you a grin Yeah, I'm just mmmmm blockn out the haters.
Hmm. You sighed in agreement.
Are you trying to kill my eyes? When you do this, you are forcing me to reread the whole sentence which gives me the urge to exit the story asap. I beg you, Christ on a bike, use quotation marks when a character is speaking!! Your readers will thank you!!
