"what, do you have a problem with that?" yoongi regrets saying that but he can't change what just happened.
"n-no, it's just..." hoseoks trails off then mumbles something.
"speak up, hoseok."
"forget it, hyung."
hoseok bites his lip nervously and looks away from yoongi. luckily the waitress arrives with their food and saves the pair from an awkward silence.
"thank you," yoongi says, taking his bulgogi.
hoseok sips his bong bong and takes his fried rice. the food looks good for such a small, shabby looking restaurant.
"i love kimchi," hoseok says, returning to his normal bubbly and talkative self.
yoongi just nods and digs into his bulgogi. it's been a while since he's had bulgogi this nice, yoongi was both impressed and surprised at the food.
"you know, this is like a date! which is funny because we just met. i've never been on a date before, have you?" hoseok starts to talk about everything and anything again, and asking too many questions.
"yes." yoongi says.
"nice~ i love making friends, it's such a nice feeling when you know you made someone's day."
"mhmm."
"did you have many friends in high school, hyung?"
"no."
"well, i had many. and i went to a lot of parties, too."
"good for you."
"the craziest one was probably when some guy i was friends with did it in his parents bed with, like, six different girls. at the same party, the stuck up class president took her clothes off and jumped from the roof into the pool."
"what's the craziest thing you've done?"
"yay, hyung, you're finally talking! and the answer to that question would be, hmm, i once agreed to do a naked portrait for my crush at the time. i was blushing the whole time, luckily they didn't notice."
"that's barely crazy."
"it was crazy for me, anyway. what's the craziest thing you've done?"
"attending a party is crazy for me."
"remind me to take you to the next party i go to."
"please don't."
the boys finished their food in a comfortable silence. hoseok insisted that he'd pay for the food and yoongi let him. they walked back to their dorm room in silence as well, both just enjoying the calming snow that covered the ground like a clean, white blanket. small snowflakes drifted down, getting caught on yoongi's nose and eyelashes. he looked at hoseok, who seemed to be enjoying the snowflakes. he was trying to catch some on his tongue, making yoongi's heart flutter.
they arrived at the dorm and went to their respective sides of the room. yoongi sat at his desk and opened up his laptop, a draft for a story he's writing appeared on the screen. he didn't quite know what it was missing, maybe a witty and sarcastic sidekick for the main protagonist? no. too cliché. he loved and hated writing at the same time. it was euphoric to be able write about the characters in his head yet he could never get them just right.
———
yoongi and hoseok haven't spoke much since that night. their dorm is always silent, expect for when hoseok would invite one of his classmates in. yoongi didn't care about what he did, as long as hoseok kept the room neat and didn't make too much noise when he was sleeping. yoongi still managed to steal glances at hoseok, he observed him from behind his computer screen. hoseok's little habits, like the way he world caress himself (in the least sexual way) when he slept, scrunch up his nose when he was frustrated, or when his face would light up ever so slightly when yoongi came back from studying in the library, made yoongi want to attack him (in the most sexual way).
yoongi didn't speak to hoseok because of the little crush he was developing. he thought nothing of it for the first week or so and thought it was because hoseok is cute. it's now been about a month since they met and yoongi knew that this crush is truly a real one. yoongi was scared, he didn't want to fall in love, again.
a paper ball hits yoongi's face, causing yoongi to return from getting lost in his thoughts. he opened it and saw "i miss talking, hyung" scribbled in messy handwriting. hoseok. yoongi reached over and grabbed a pen from desk and wrote a reply "then let's talk."
"yoongi, hyung," hoseok speaks, sounding relieved.
"hoseok," yoongi replied, not making eye contact and in a dull tone. just like always.
"how're you?"
"fine."
"okay..." hoseok looked nervous and shy. that was rare.
"yourself?"
"i'm good. hyung, do you mind when my friends come over?"
"no."
"oh okay, i have another coming over now. he'll be here soon."
"don't make too much noise."
"we won't."
"good."
"hyung, there's this party and i-"
"no." yoongi cut him off. he was never going back to a party.
"please, i promise it'll be fun."
"still no."
"but hyung."
"no."
hoseok pouted and crossed his arms, what a child. yoongi shrugged and went back to trying to finish an assignment. there was a soft knock at their door, it was hoseok's friend. hoseok hopped off his bed and opened the door, inviting the friend in. he was only just smaller than yoongi, a mop of messy blonde hair covered his eyebrows, a sharp jawline with chubby cheeks followed. he was dreamy to say the least. he looked similar to someone yoongi used to know, yoongi prayed to every god he could think of that it wouldn't be that someone. it couldn't be, he wouldn't have moved to seoul, he was still is daegu, right?
"hyung, let me introduce you to my friend~" hoseok smiles sweetly and motioned towards the cute blonde.
"go ahead," yoongi nods, quickly looking back at his laptop.
"yoongi hyung, jimin," hoseok starts. "jimin, yoongi hyung."
no. it can't be. jimin is a pretty common name so it could be anyone. the expression on jimin's face said otherwise. it really was him.
park jimin.
