The Last Of Us

Chapter six: Seeing red

"Close the gate!" Harlan shouted when those men tried to enter.

Without wasting a second Aaron and Jared closed the gates and barricaded it by blocking it with a big shelf. Harlan and the others ran to the lobby area while I am still standing here. I don't have any idea on what's going on or who those men are or what should I do. I didn't realize that I was again lost until harry snapped me out of my thoughts.He didn't say anything to me, he just gestured with his hand and I figured out what he meant. He gestured to follow him and Aaron and I started following him.

Before we could reach to the lobby we heard a man shout, "we will do it the hard way."

What did he mean by the hard way? Soon we heard bullets. They were firing at us. Due to the small glass window which was beside the gate, the bullets passed and we might get hit. Harry pulled us down and we crawled to the lobby as fast as we could, avoiding the bullets that were fired.

"Take your guns,take cover and be ready. Quick!" Harlan shouted as soon as we got there.

"What do you-" before Lori could she cut off by Glenn. "We need to kill them before they kill us." He said.

Before they kill us. These words got stuck in my head. There's no way I want to die neither do I want to see my friends die.

We all took cover and hid behind the walls and rooms to take cover when we heard the wooden main door slam.
"Here we come. Run you cowards. Run before you die." The man said while slowly walking towards us. Their guns weren't ready and it was our chance to get them. Maybe they thought we didn't have guns.

"You're the one who's dying!" I shouted while I got up and started firing on them.

Aaron,Lori,Harlan,Glenn,Maggie started firing at them as they backed. They took cover behind the walls and loaded their guns.

"You're gonna pay for firing at us you bastards." The man cursed.

We're gonna pay? They are the one who will pay. The men soon started firing at us. They were continuously firing at us which made it hard for us to fire at them.We were missing the shots and if we kept missing, soon we'll run out of bullets.

Suddenly, they stopped firing and I noticed a man who was walking towards us. He wasn't prepared and I took the advantage of it. I shifted a little and quickly fired at him and he fell on the ground.

I looked at Aaron and harry who were on the opposite side of me and they were really impressed with my skills. There were two men who saw them and we're firing at them, I gestured to them that are two men and then I lifted my head up and fired at them and then they started firing at me. Harry and Aaron then shot the two of them. It was a perfect plan to kill them.

I tried to fire at the other men but I saw no one. They left? I slowly got up and the others also got up as they noticed

"Maybe they got scared" Lori said while walking up to us.

" I don't think so. We need to be sure." I said.

"Boys go and check the main door. See if the dead are coming or not." Harlan commanded.

I forgot that sound attracts the dead and we made a lot of sound here. I'm sure it attracted a lot of the dead. I stayed where I was and the others walked to the main door.

"You're good at firing by the way." Harlan said before walking to the others.

I thanked him and looked at the surroundings. Three men, dead men, were lying on the floor, blood pooling around their bodies and splattered on the walls.Wherever i looked i was only seeing red.

I tried to swipe these things away and walk but a hand held my hand and prevented me to walk. I stopped and looked back, a tall,fat man with a gun on his other hand was holding me.

"Guys." I said. I could feel fear run through my body. The others looked around and Harry tried to take his gun.

"Don't even think about it," The man said,"keep your guns on the floor."

They did what he said and I saw Harry's hand turn into a fist. "Let her go!" He said.

"No, we'll take her to our base." He said.

"Don't you even dare!" Aaron shouted.

"Keep your voice down you prick!" The other man growled.

"We'll kill you first and then take this girl." He said.

The other men walked to the others to captivate them. I remembered that I have a knife on me, i slowly took the knife out and held it tightly with my hands, ready to stab the man.

The others saw the knife in my hand and got ready to attack the other goons who held them.

I prepared myself and turned, i stabbed the man in his chest and he shouted in pain.The other mean tried to come and attack but Harlan, Harry and Aaron took their knives and stabbed them on their neck spilling blood everywhere.

I took the knife out from his chest and hit him twice. He fell on the ground and walked to them.

"You're so amazing!" Maggie shouted.

I smiled and harry walked to me,"are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine." I said.

Aaron walked to me and he looked tensed. He was worried. "Aaron,I'm fine." I said, trying to relax him.

He smiled.

Everyone was pretty impressed by the way I fought to defend myself. I smiled at everyone but soon it turned into a frown.I can hear the dead growl. They are coming towards us.

"Guys we need to hide." I said.

We were about walk but I heard a gunshot. I looked at myself and realized that I was the one who got shot. Blood's coming out of the wound in my stomach. I quickly pressed it with my hands and looked at the others.

Harry had his gun in his hand and he shot someone behind me. I started feeling dizzy and I was about to fall.

Soon, a pair of hands held me,preventing me to fall.It was Harry. I was in his arms and everyone was around me trying to help.

"Emily! Emily, don't." I heard, before everything blacked out.
