The air in the narrowed hallways of the school was filled with unusual excitement. Girls giggled with ruddy blushes and boys taunted with obnoxious bravado, even the teachers seemed giddy from the anxious energy of their youthful underlings. What was the cause of all this heightened energy?
Valentine's Day.
Yes, tomorrow was the coveted (or dreaded) day of love.
Meanwhile, your own eyes were glued to a small piece of paper in perfect concentration.
"Decorative box, semi-sweet chocolate, marshmallows..." you mumbled the contents of your rushed list as you mindlessly slipped off your school shoes, replacing them with your hard-soled loafers.
"Hello."
The sudden voice startled you, your hands releasing the list in the air. You promptly turned to the tall redhead, "Oh, Kakyoin," you chuckled, a quiver to your lips, "Hey." You cursed to yourself as you felt your cheeks flush. Kakyoin was so beautiful. His cherry-hued hair was like a graceful river as it flowed down in mesmerizing waves, framing his mature face. He always had a soft look to him. He wasn't annoyingly confident nor snarky. He was just...Kakyoin.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to scare you, _____." he said in the sweetest voice imaginable.
"O-Oh, it's nothing, really."
Kakyoin's attention then dropped to the floor. He kneeled down, bringing a familiar paper up with him. A crazy cute smile crept on his lips as he examined it, "Were you planning on making chocolates?"
Your cheeks turn an embarrassing crimson, your eyes avoiding his soft violet ones, "Umm...yeah."
Kakyoin handed you back the evidence of your affection for him (without his knowledge of course), "Well, whoever is going to receive them is certaintly lucky."
Your words lumped in your throat, 'That guy is you, Kakyoin.'
"I'll see you later then," he said with an irresistible smile on his perfect lips.
You nodded and he promptly took his leave. As soon as he was out of hearing range, you let out a frustrated sigh. You don't remember exactly when your crush on Kakyoin started, but it was only getting worse. Every time he waved, or smiled, or talked, or even looked, you would just crumble. The fact that he was your neighbor didn't help much either. Still, tomorrow was the day you would finally tell him your true feelings...in the form of a box of chocolates of course.
"Yare Yare," a deep voice entered your vicinity, "You're so freaking obvious."
You looked up at Jotaro with a defeated pout. He smirks, almost out of pity, before walking off in silence. Your body slumped against the lockers, a groan escaping your lips.
Jotaro was right.
You were a hopeless mess.

You arrived home with a menagerie of decadent supplies and tried to sneak past your mother who was hard at work in the kitchen, but to no avail.
"_____."
You winced, caught in mid-step, "Mhmm?"
Your mother eyed the bags with serious intent, "What's all that?"
"Uhh, its," you held your breath as you prepared for her reaction, "stuff to make chocolates...?"
A wide grin spread on your mother's face, "I knew it!" She rushed over to you, "Who the lucky boy?"
