This definitely couldn't have been a coincidence.

There were so many people who came to this cafe, and you did have regulars of course, but none like this.

"Good evening, Mr. Kakyoin!" You beamed as the mysterious man entered the cafe yet again, the third time that day.

The red-haired man smiled faintly and he didn't even need to order since you had already punched in his usual.

Kakyoin had been coming in three times a day for a week now and it was honestly somewhat concerning at this point. You smiled cheerfully, sure, but deep down you were worried for this man.

Firstly, this cafe admittedly wasn't the cheapest around, so getting drinks here three times a day was most definitely a determent to his funds for sure. Secondly, you noticed that he was always alone when he came to the shop, and it wasn't like he was getting drinks for others since he always just ordered one. Then after ordering, he'd take his time finishing his drink as if he wanted to stay for as long as he could.

Did he not have a good social life? Or maybe his job was so terrible he draws out his time as much as he can to avoid it.

Whatever the reason, you had decided the night before to ask him what was wrong. You figured he had to have gained some trust with you, so he might answer you back. There was no harm in trying right?

"Hey...Mr. Kakyoin," you said while placing his finished drink on the counter,

"Would you mind staying until my shift is over? I...have to ask you something."

The man's smile faded and his eyes widened in surprise.

You stammered to fill the awkward air,

"It's fine if you can't, I know it's weird to ask of a total stranger."

Kakyoin took his drink and handed you his money with a nervous smile,

"I'll stay..."

Before you had a chance to respond, he was already sitting at a table, sipping on his drink like nothing even happened.

Yeah, you had hope, but you never expected him to agree!

At around six, you had finally ended your shift for the day. You hung up your apron in your locker, your mind focused on one thing.

You headed out of the back and made your way around the counter, your eyes glancing at the man who had waited for two hours just to talk to you. He could've left at any time, but he stayed...

Kakyoin noticed your approach and smiled awkwardly. Understandable since you had randomly asked to speak with him privately.

You exhaled to yourself and smiled back as you sat in the chair across from him. There was a brief silence between you that was filled by the still going noises of the coffee house.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting," you finally spoke.

Kakyoin's deep purple eyes looked at you for a moment and you swear to God you felt your heart flutter,

"It's alright," he said in the softest voice imaginable,

"You said you had something to ask me...?"
