Rings and Things

ROSE P.O.V

2:03am.

Everyone was in the house sleep scattered about. Some bodyguards even slept on the kitchen stools.

I was up watching the traffic tapes I rewinded the part where Alex got in the car so many times my finger started to hurt. I already tried zooming in on the license plate it was scribbled out, the tape stopped when they reached the highway.

There had to be a reason for this. I walked downstairs to see the bodyguards sleeping some on the floor and some on the couch I grabbed my keys,stepped over the bodyguards and walked out the door. It was chilly outside but I didn't want to wake anybody by going in and getting my jacket. Eric was on the step "Can't sleep either?" I questioned.

"Nope" He said getting up.

"Well come with me"

"To the warehouse?"

I said nothing I just got in the car and started it. Eric got in the passenger seat.

I got out the car and turned on my flashlight looking around "see anything?" I asked him.

He shook his head no. I looked  everywhere but still nothing.

I finally gave up and sat in the car.

Defeated.

I couldn't even cry anymore I stared at the radio.

I'm tired I hate my life it was great at first now it was a disaster from hell. I wasn't sure about anything right now all I wanted to do was drive into a lake.

"Rose" I heard Eric say. I didn't have to energy to speak I just rolled down my window "I found something" He said from inside the warehouse. I walked out the car and into the warehouse, following Eric he had his flashlight pointing to a small ring that laid on the floor. I picked it up it had a small paper attached to it.

My heart leaped with joy. But then disappointment took over, he left me why?

"What does it say?" Eric asked.

I gave him the ring starting the car back up with a new found energy.

I was going to find him.

Probably kill him myself but still...

............

It was around 6am when I started searching for clues again. I looked through our room mostly rummaging towards the bookshelves to see what Alex was looking for before the crash.

He had all these books which were mostly instructional books.

I sighed as a opened the last book. I was now cross crossed on the floor with books all over the place. I threw the last book on the floor since I found absolutely nothing in that one too.

....

I woke up hearing Angel's voice from outside of my door.

I didn't answer.

"Rose please come out"

Silence.

"You can't stay in there for long" she said.

"Do you have any leads?" I asked.

Silence.

"Then I won't move" I said getting up and sitting on the bed. My back hurted from falling asleep on the floor.

I heard footsteps walk away from the door.

Why does everything happen to me? I twirled the ring around my ring finger. I didn't sign up for any of this I just wanted to be happy.

My stomach growled. I sat up opening the door and going downstairs.

Eric,Jackson, Juilian, and Trey were in the kitchen talking then stopped when they saw me.

"What?" I said.

"Nothing" Eric said opening the fridge and handing me a yogurt and a spoon.

"Where's the rest of the bodyguards?"

"With Angel to try to track down where Alex is".

"Why didn't they get me?"

"Honestly because you're not thinking straight right now, you just came back from being kidnapped and now Alex is working with Katie I know this is hard on you"

"Im a tough girl I can handle it" I snapped walking away.

What if Alex doesn't come back?

What if Katie kills him?

What if Alex really is working with Katie?

There's so many what if's and it's getting me paranoid to think that Alex probably did side with Katie. Maybe he did fall in love with Katie secretly.

I looked at the small ring again. Of course it was a diamond one. Stay strong. Love you. But obviously if he sided with Katie then he wouldn't say that right?
