I groaned as I got ready for my night class. Rolling out of my bed, I regret signing up for it. Definitely won't be in that class for long. I went in my bathroom and fixed my hair up a little.
The whole time I zoned out. I was out of it the whole class and only paid attention when we were dismissed. I sighed and grabbed my bag. I was in the hallway with my headphones when I felt someone tap my shoulder.
I turned around and saw Cameron and Antonio. I mentally rolled my eyes. Can I not escape Takuya and his friends?
"What's up?"
"Hey Marceline, question." Antonio started.
"Answer."
"Well my frat is having a party and..."
"You want to invite me?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah." Cameron nodded.
I thought about it for a minute. "Sure."
Both of their eyes widened a bit. "Really?" They said in unison.
"Only if my sister can come too."
"How old is she?" Cameron asked.
"16."
"Are you trying to get us arrested?!" Antonio whisper yelled.
"You have a point. I kind of wanted to see your reaction if I asked. I'll come." I chuckled a bit.
"It's on Saturday at 8." Antonio said.
"Okay."
"Kenji has your number right?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
"He can text you the address."
"Okay. Well I'm gonna go home and sleep, so nice bumping into you guys." I waved.
"Bye Marceline." They said in unison.
I swear they scare me with that sometimes. Even Amara and I don't do that and we're sisters. The party is on Saturday and today is Thursday. I almost stopped in the middle of the sidewalk when I realized who will also be there.
Takuya Terada.
I groaned and resumed walking. I shouldn't care if he's there or not. If I spend the whole time there anticipating Takuya to bug me, I'll just ruin the party for myself. Maybe that's why Antonio and Cameron didn't bring him up when they invited me.
As soon as I entered my place I took off my shoes and belly flopped on my bed. I took out my phone and tossed my bag on the chair. Kenji texted me and said that I could ride with him and Minsung to the party. I put my phone on the nightstand and went to sleep.
----
"Oh my god Marceline, I haven't seen you this social before. I can't believe you're going to a party. Are you even my sister?" Amara went on and on as I finished my makeup.
I wore a fishnet long sleeve with jean shorts, fishnet stockings, black timberlands, and a denim choker. I didn't do much to my hair and left it in it's normal curly state. I wore burgundy lipstick that looked good on my complexion. After adding the finishing touches, I looked in the mirror.
"How do I look?" I asked Amara.
"Beautiful." She gushed.
I smiled and hugged her. "I'll be back late, so get some rest. Don't forget you have school tomorrow."
"I know." She giggled.
"Bye."
"Bye." She waved as I exited.
Kenji waited outside with Minsung to pick me up. I smiled and waved at them then sat in the back. We got there and stepped out. Music was blasting and people were everywhere.
"So this is what it looks like." I whispered. I noticed Kenji stared at me from the corner of my eye. "What's wrong, is there something on my face?"
"Nothing...it's just you look really pretty tonight." He blushed and looked down.
"Kenji's right, you look awesome!" Minsung added.
"Thanks guys." I smiled.
We entered the frat house. I was hit with the smell of weed, the sound of loud music being played, and bodies dancing everywhere. I've never been to a party like this before. The only house parties I've ever been to were family ones.
"Are you alright?" Kenji shouted over the loud music.
"Yeah, it's just a little overwhelming."
I followed the boys to the pool room where Antonio, Cameron, and Daniel were. They were playing pool with some other strangers with girls swooning over them.
"Hey Marceline." The guys greeted.
I woke from my daze and said "hi" back. The guys talked and hung out together while I sat in the corner awkwardly. I would leave, but that would mean I wasted my time getting ready. I'm not getting dolled up just for no one to see.
After debating whether I should explore or not, I stood up and left the pool room. I found myself in the kitchen. There was only a few people there to get drinks or snacks. I looked at the bottles on the counter curiously. I've never had alcohol before.
I shrugged and grabbed a cup. I poured some vodka in it and looked at it. It won't hurt to try right? It's just one cup. I brought the cup to my lips and felt the liquid burn my throat. I winced a bit. It's not that bad. The drink had a watermelon taste to it.
I took my cup with me and joined the crowd of dancing bodies. Mi Gente played as I danced along with everyone else. After a while, I noticed my cup was empty. I drank it all.
After that, I kept going back for refills. Even tried more of the foreign bottles. I actually found myself having fun here. A smile grew on my face. My body swayed to the loud music.
"Marceline?" There was a hand pulled me away from the crowd. I shook off the hand and turned around. It was Daniel.
"Oh hey Daniel." I began to feel tipsy.
"Are you okay? You should come back to the pool room." He said.
"Nah, I like it here." I giggled.
Daniel snatched the red cup out of my hands. He sniffed it before taking a sip. His face contorted into one of disgust.
"This is Tequila, do you know how strong this shit is?!" He exclaimed.
"It tastes good tho." I shrugged innocently.
I felt a buzz and threw my head back. The music was the only thing I could hear clearly. The smell of weed and sweat got stronger. The screams of people sounded like faint echoes. I looked straight ahead, but Daniel wasn't there anymore.
"Daniel?" I called.
No answer. I shrugged and decided to walk back to the kitchen. Instead, I bumped into a hard surface. I frowned when I felt a warm breath near my ear.
"Hello Marcie."
