Using Your Best Friend as Your Lover

Starting the Attack

Nurse? All I am doing is taking care of Dave. Nothing else or more. I was about to walk back to the kitchen when the doorbell rang again. At this point, I am abit annoyed so, I flung open the door and glare until I notice who it was. Sollux was standing at the door with his hand ready to knock. I only had my mouth open from embarrassment. Feferi jumped out from behind him and smiled at me.

"I heard Dave got hurt pretty bad. So, I brought Sollux here to apologize and a basket of cookies to make it up to him. Is he here?" I snapped out of my gaze to reply to Fef at least.

"Umm. Yeah. He is in the kitchen eating right now. I wouldn't--"

Feferi looked up at Sollux who just walked on in besides me. Why couldn't I tell them to go away? Why am I so hung up on him? He's the biggest jerk I know. Why?! Feferi noticed I was fighting myself mentally and patted my back.

"It's okay. I'm sure Dave will be alright and I am sure whatever is wrong will go away. Just let time take it's course!" She smiled at me and I couldn't help ,but smile back at her. She is so nice to everyone. Even if she knows they hate her. She is so perfect..

I suddenly heard Dave from the kitchen and ran on in. Dave was on Sollux throwing punch after punch. Sollux tried to hold his hands up ,but Dave had his arms pinned down with his legs. Fef screamed and fell to the ground. She was not a fighter. She was someone whose heart was made of gold. I clunched my fist and grabbed Dave by his shirt off Sollux. Sollux got up and started to raise his fist before Fef did the same thing I did to Dave.

"Both of you stop! I brought you here Sollux to apologize, not fight some more!"

"Why should I when he is the one who started it again?!"

Fef slapped him across the face. I just stood in shock holding onto Dave's shirt. He didn't move or say anything. I would have looked down to see if he was just in as much shock as me ,but didn't. Feferi actually hit someone. That someone being Sollux,her own boyfriend for 5 months now. Sollux held his cheek and look at Fef.

"Fef, we need to talk. Let's just go. I don't want to say this in-front of him."

"What was that freak? I can teach you another lesson!"

"Dave, just stop! I need to talk to you too. Fef, thank you for stopping by. I'll come over to your house later after I finish up here with Dave."

"Okay Crystal. Come on, love."

Feferi helped Sollux up and he put an arm around her as they walked out. I opened the door and waved to them as they left. I turned my attention to Dave,who was on the couch with ice packs all over him. I couldn't tell if his eyes were closed so, I took his glasses off. He has a black eye. I sighed then went to get another ice pack. I open the kitchen fridge then stood still and a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. Dave placed his head on on my shoulder and I placed my hands over his.

"Hmm.? Something you need?"

"Why do you still like him? I mean, he isn't he nice."

"Dave, why do you like your music?"

"Those are two different things."

"Not really. You can't explain why you like your music,can you?"

"So? Four-eyes is nothing like my music."

"He is. I can't explain why I like him. But I do like him."

Dave took a deep breathe and stepped back abit. I turned around and he put his hands on the fridge behind me. I was pinned between him and the fridge. He looked at me with his red eyes. They were filled with hurt. Dave must be in pain from the fight still..

"Crystal. you are my of my coolest friends. But,you are so stubborn and ignorant sometimes."

"Wait,what?"

"Let me finish. Anyway, I'll help you get Sollux. Only so you can see how much of a jerk he is."

"Really?! Thank you, Dave! What about Feferi though?"

"He's gonna dump her once he sees who you're with."

"I am not dating anyone though."

"Maybe ,but you do have a fake boyfriend now."

Oh gosh. This is a recipe for disaster.
