Valentine's day was coming up and the Mind Palace was brimming with excitement. It was both Patton and Logan's first Valentine's Day together, AND Roman and Virgil's first Valentine's Day together. The two couples were thrilled. They were both working on plans for the special occasion.
Virgil had explicitly stated that all he wanted was time with his boyfriend; Roman, on the other hand, was on overdrive. A chance to be creative and romantic with his plans and he wasn't going to waste it. He already had his plan, now all he had to do was wait.
Now Logan and Patton, on the other hand, were both extremely nervous for the upcoming holiday. The two had only started dating recently, and were still weary of their own self-worth in the relationship. Logan constantly worried whether or not he was giving Patton the love and attention he knew the other craved; Patton constantly worried whether or not he was a burden to Logan, or if he was simply to childish for him. Of course, their worries weren't true, and the two loved each other dearly.
The two had decided on spending the day out, then at night going to a planetarium. And as far as Virgil knew, he and his lover weren't doing anything but spending the day on the couch together... Of course that wasn't what was actually going to happen.

Eventually, the 14th rolled around fairly quickly. Virgil woke up to breakfast in bed, and showered in Roman's kisses.
"Ro, you said we weren't doing anything today." he said as the prince sat beside him.
"I can't do that, kitten. I just have to spoil you with my love today." as the words left his mouth, he was peppering Virgil's neck with kisses and listening to his melodic giggles that followed suit.
"Well, ok then, what ARE we doing then?" the blushing facet asked.
"Oh, dear, I can't tell you that! It'd ruin the fun!" Prince smirked at his lover, who playfully growled in turn.
"Oh, come here you little-!"
"Eeep!" Roman squealed as Virgil pressed his lips into his own. The two stayed there for awhile, only unlocking their lips to breathe. In the end the two gazed into each other's eyes with stupid love-struck grins on their faces.
"I love you, kitten." the darker trait blushed at the nick-name.
"I love you too, royal trash." Prince smirked and pressed their lips together once again, it was like two pieces of a puzzle. Eventually the two had to break apart, Roman pulled away as Virgil groaned in complaint.
"Alrighty! Eat, clean up, and get dressed; we have a very busy day ahead of us, love." with one last kiss, Roman left Virgil to get ready for this mystery day.

Logan woke up in Patton's arms, a common occurrence for the pair, but today was the day they were both excitedly awaiting. Logan stretched and took the moment to appreciate how dang lucky he was to wake up beside Patton, someone he loved dearly. The logical aspect kissed the other's forehead, and gently shook the other awake.
"Wake up dear, happy Valentine's Day." Patton's eyes slowly cracked open to see his boyfriend gazing at him lovingly, man was he lucky!
When the two were awake, they shared a passionate kiss. Sure, they both knew that the day wasn't any different than any other day, but looking into each other's eyes made them want to spend, not just today, but every day together.
After a very long time of gazing at each other, the two kissed and got up to get breakfast.
After the two ate, they soon left for a 'day on the town' as Patton had called it. The couple walked out hand in hand, and on the drive decided on going to the zoo: perfect for Patton's love of animals AND Logan's love of spitting out random facts about them.

Once Anxiety got dressed, his prince was waiting for him at his door. Greeting him with an eye roll and a quick kiss, his boyfriend asked him to put on a blindfold.
"Oh, kinky." he commented.
"Get your mind out of the gutter, sweetie!" Princey led the giggling trait into a room he's never seen before in the mind palace. After a few minutes, the blindfold was removed.
"What is this place?"
"It is whatever you wish it to be, dear. You can do anything your heart desires, it is your dreamworld."
The ceiling mimicked a galaxy, there were cliffs and ponds and vast open fields to enjoy. Virgil gazed in wonder, spinning to look at it all, until he stopped.
"You... you made all of this for me?" turning back to his boyfriend with disbelief in his eyes.
"Of course I did! You deserve only the best, my dear. Today is our day, and all I want is to see you happy." he pressed his lips to Anxiety's forehead, and held him close.
"I don't deserve you." Anxiety mumbled in Princey's arms.
"You deserve the whole world, my dear. If only I could just make you believe it."
"I love you Princey."
"I love you too, Virgil."
The loving couple stayed there for a minute, basking in the love for one another. Virgil was so flattered that Roman went through all this just for him, and Roman was just so happy that Virgil liked what he did for him.
"Well, don't just gawk at it, let's go enjoy it!" with a snap of his fingers, Roman was in his swimming trunks and cannon-balled into the huge pond and disappeared under the water.
Virgil got worried that his boyfriend somehow had got himself stuck, took off his jacket and leaned over to look for his lover. Like lightning, Roman sprang out of the water, grabbed Virgil, and pulled him into the pond.
Roman popped up laughing, and Virgil popped up trying to cover up his laugh with groans of annoyance. But soon joined upon looking at his lover laughing his head off.
"You're a jerk." he smiled, wrapping his arms around Prince's neck.
"Than why are you laughing?" he smirked back.
"I am not." the darker trait's hand shot up to cover his blushing smile.
"~Oh yes you are~!" Prince sing-songed, punctuating the moment by squeezing his boyfriend's sides, which earned a squeal from the other.
"Prince!" he giggled. "You freaking tease!" he kept giggling as he pressed their lips together.
"Oh you love it."
"I love you."
The two playfully fought on the pond for hours: splashing, racing, laughing, and being madly in love. After two or three hours, Virgil noticed the large cliff.
"Ro, what's that cliff for?"
"Want to find out?"

Logan and Patton were having a great time at the zoo, and they were about to sit down for lunch.
"Are you enjoying yourself, Patton?"
"Of course I am! Aren't you, Lo?" Patton always worried if Logan was happy or not, it wasn't clear sometimes. But he had picked up a twinkle in his eyes when he was going on a tangent about a species and their history or lifestyle.
"While I do enjoy putting my random knowledge of different animal species is being put to use, I'd enjoy anything as long as we're together."
Patton smiled and so did Logan. Even though the two had their insecurities, being with each other made the insecurities fade away into the undeniable love they had.
"Logan I love you so much, you know that right?" Patton's eyes were glossing over by the minute, the morality always got emotional when expressing his love.
"Yes dear, you tell me constantly. I love you too, you are perfect."
The two shared a passionate kiss, some more romantic words, and a milkshake. Once the two ate, they went to the next exhibit: the penguins.
"Patton?" Logan asked his boyfriend, who was currently gawking at a penguin who seemed to be waving at him.
"Yeah, Lo?"
"Are you aware that penguins are one of the few species of birds that mate for life?"
It was quite a flirty remark for the logical side, and Patton knew it. Smiling his head off, Patton sat back up to peck his boyfriend on the cheek and hold his hand, snuggling up to his side. It was at that moment, the two watched as one bird led another to a big pile of pebbles.
"Lo, what are they doing?"
"The female is trying to woo the other into being her mate, the pebble nest making for a suitable place to nest." he smiled looking down at his boyfriend and giving him a kiss.
The pair watched the birds in a comfortable silence for awhile, understanding the metaphor the penguins had caused. But after a few more hours at the zoo, the pair headed to the planetarium like they planned.

Roman led Virgil to the top of the cliff, avoiding the other's questioning of what it was for. Once at the top, the pair stopped, Roman smiling his head off, and Virgil rolling his eyes.
"NOW can you tell me what we are doing up here?"
"Do you remember when we first started dating, I asked you what you'd want to do if you could do it? Do you remember your answer?" his eyes were brighter than the hundreds if stars that dotted the 'sky'.
"Yeah, of course, I said I'd want to fly... What does that have to do with it?" he replied skeptically.
"Well, were in an imagination room, dear. We can do what we want."
"... So... you mean to tell me that-? If I were to jump...?"
Roman nodded vigorously.
"I've heard you dream about flying, how freeing it'd be for you, I saw how your eyes lit up when you were talking about it! If you don't want to, you don't have to; but if you do then the air is open, just waiting for you."
"I don't know... Are you SURE it's safe?"
"One hundred percent. I'll do it with you if you want to."
"I trust you, Roman."
The Prince smiled, he knew it was hard for the anxious side to trust someone, but he trusted him. The Prince extended a hand, which the other hesitantly took.
"Ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be, I guess."
"Three,"
"Two..."
"ONE!"
The two jumped off the cliff hand in hand, Anxiety closing his eyes tightly waiting for impact. But impact never came, all that came was a cool chill of wind against his face. He slowly cracked open his eyes to find himself floating, he looked over to see his lover doing the same.
"It... It WORKED! Oh my gosh I'm actually flying! Thank you so much, this feels amazing!"
The darker trait tried to get his balance in the air, while Roman looked downright graceful. Chuckling, the Prince went to help his boyfriend get his balance. Once the both of them were stable, Roman led Anxiety to the ledge of the cliff they just jumped off of.
"Ready to have some fun with this?"
"Oh yeah!"
Roman grabbed the other's hand and got as close to the ledge as possible. In one move, he kicked them off the ledge, making them soar forward to a different cliff. Both letting out shrieks of happiness and surprise, repeatedly went back and forth between the cliffs: racing, spinning, and enjoying it all the while. Once the two were out of breath, they just floated in the middle, holding each other as if their life's depended on it. Maybe, in a weird way, they did.
"Did you have fun today, dear?" Roman asked while their foreheads pressed against each other's.
"Of course I did, Princey. It was absolutely perfect. Thank you for doing this, you didn't have to."
"I know, but I just wanted to make this perfect, I love seeing you this happy. That's all I wanted, and I got it. I love you, always know that."
"I love you too, Princey."
The two shared a long, passionate kiss and slowly floated down and out of the imagination room. It was pretty late, but the two didn't want to part; so they cuddled up on the couch, watched a few movies and started to doze off. Roman saw Anxiety starting to drift to sleep, kissed him on the forehead and smiled.
"Happy Valentines Day, my kitten. I love you." Virgil stirred slightly and leaned into Prince closer.
"Happy Valentines Day, I love you so much." Roman pulled the blanket over the both of them, and closed his eyes.
'It was a good Valentines Day.'

When Logan and Patton got to the planetarium, they didn't really know what to expect; neither of them had ever been before. The two thought it'd be a good idea because of Logan's interest in astronomy, and Patton thought it'd be a good experience. Still, they didn't know what exactly would happen.
The two walked into a room with a high spherical ceilings and rows of seats as if it were a movie theater. They took their seats and waited for the show.
After a few minutes everyone was told to watch the ceiling; when Logan and Patton looked up, they saw a black projection on the ceiling with a yellow dot in the center. As the ceiling zoomed in and focused itself, you could see several things around the yellow dot, the sun. There was a voiceover giving off information about the planets and solar system, the ceiling matching the information.
"It is beautiful!" Patton whispered as the ceiling zoomed far back into several galaxies all together.
"All the beauty in the universe could never compare to the beauty right in front of me." Logan spoke poetically, causing Patton to look over with glossy eyes.
"All the stars in the universe is nothing compared to the stars in your eyes." Patton knew it was cliche, but it was their love.
The couple shared a long gazed and brought together for a longer kiss. While their lips were still together, a loud 'bang' went of; the Big Bang. The couple looked up, realized what made the noise, and started giggling.
"Would you look at that? We made the Big Bang; we can make our own universe together." as soon as the words left Patton's mouth, the two were kissing again.
"I'd enjoy that very much, dear." with one more kiss, more explosions were on the ceiling.
The two walked out of the planetarium lighter than what they came in as, both feeling more certain about the relationship than before. Hearing the loving words coming from the other let the insecurities they had fade.
It was fairly late when they got back to the mind palace, around 11:30-ish, so the two changed and went to Logan's bed to sleep. Once they were covered up, they snuggled up close and exchanged stupid love-struck grins and kisses.
"Did you enjoy today dear?" Logan asked the persona in his arms.
"I loved it, Lo, did you?"
"Yes I did, but being with you makes everything enjoyable."
The pair looked at the clock, 11:59.
"Happy Valentines Day, love." they said in unison as it changed to the 15th. The two snuggled up closer, turned off the light, and slowly drifted to sleep.
They had the same thought right before they slipped out of consciousness: 'it was a good Valentines Day.'OH MY GOD IT'S FINALLY DONE! I have been working on this FOREVER! Also, it turned out WAY longer than I expected it to be. I really hope you liked it cause I worked really hard on this one and spent most of my vacation writing it. :) but otherwise, I hope you had a great Valentines Day whether or not you are single or not, today is a day for you to love yourself and the others around you. BECAUSE I LOVE ALL OF YOU GUYS, GALS, AND NON-BINARY PALS OUT THERE!
