Chapter 9: Cameron
' Is that what Shane and Lisa told me to say? Or was it wife and not marrying me? Stupid, stupid!' Jade had a hand on her heart.
"Cameron, this isn't a JOKE right? None of our friends are gonna come out and scream you just got PUNKED, right?" She was putting her hand down from her chest. Her left hand. Her rung finger extended a little. I shook my head.
"I really, truely meant it. Will you marry me?" I asked again, nervously. She had small dots of water peaking from behind her eyes. She nodded.
"Yes." I stood up and placed the ring on her 4th finger. I hugged her, clinging onto my beauty. The beauty I have now. No one else can ever have her. She's mine.
"I love you."
"I love you too." She looked up at me. I took my pinkie and wiped away the liquid under her eyes. I leaned down and kissed her. Kissed the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. (Besides my sister. They are both my little beauties.) I stood there. A finance trapped on my neck, my mother's ring on her finger. Flowers on the ground. I stopped kissing her, after my stomach rumbled loudly. "I'm hungry." She said, rubbing her belly. I nodded.
"Me too." I wrapped an arm around her shoulder. She leaned into me. I opened the door as she stared at the ring.
"It's so pretty. Wait..." she froze, looking at me, "how do we tell everyone?! I mean we're only 18, well almost 19, how are we..." I put a finger on her lips.
"Don't worry. Every single one of them know. Thanks for sleeping so late." I kissed her quickly and ran down the stairs.
"I'll get you Cameron Craig!" She cried, running down the stairs after me. I got to the bottom, J. C and Rosemarie standing there. I nodded, smiling. J. C walked up to me and shook my hand and gave me a hug slapping me on the back.Alright dude!" He said, letting go of me. He leaned in. "I'm asking Rosie tonight." I smiled and nodded.
"Need any help?" We all laughed. Excerpt Rosie who didn't understand. Jade finally got down the stairs and slipped an arm behind my back. Her right arm. (I wonder why? Sarcasm intended.)
"I guess I don't have to explain, but I'll show the ring anyway!" She lashed put her hand, letting the sunlight hit it and cause a bright gleam to shine. All of the girls surrounded her, squealing. The guys shook my hand and pat my back. The both of us said thanks.
"So," Leslie said, slinking over to Marcus, "you gonna wait till you're twenty?" We looked at each other. Jade nodded.
"Yeah. After all of this shit is over." Jade replied, moving back towards me.
"Okay. Bridesmaids and best men?" Josh asked. I looked at him.
"Um..." I gurgled.
"Lisa. Because you know I was hers she's my sister... oh and Racheal, Rosemarie, Bobbi, Leslie, Kim, Karista, Ariana, Maleah, Tamia, Fiona, Stacey and Jamie will be my bridesmaids." Each girl squealed as their name was said. 'How does she remember all of them?' The guys looked at me.
"Best man?"
"Um... J. C because you know he's my brother and Josh, Chris, Connor, Fane, Luke, Marcus all whatever the guys get." Each boy pretend to be their girlfriend's squealing when they got called. "Oh and Shane." I heard Shane squeal upstairs. We laughed. The girls walked up to each boy and whacked them upside the head.
"Ow!" They said in unison.
I didn't want to, but I had to. I was happy Jade said yes, but sad we may be attending a funeral as fiances. I grabbed J. C.What about Mindy?" Jade jogged over, interlocking her arms with each other's. J. C and Jade frowned.
"I know Lisa and Shane said no, but we have to get out. Without Rosie." J. C nodded, understanding what Jade meant.
"Okay. Let's go now. Tell them we have to go get the mail quickly. That's why we're all going." J. C said, Jade and I nodding. We all moved towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Rosie called over the laughter.
"Mail!" J. C replied, slamming the door. We ran to the car and hopped in. Jade cowered away from the wheel.
"Cameron... get it away!" She slapped her head. J. C sat in the driver's side, and I held Jade.
"It's okay we're going to see Mindy." Jade nodded, calming as I rubbed her head.Chapter 10: Jade
Luckily, we lived about 10 minutes from the hospital, we ran into the hospital and demanded to see Mindy. I was fingering my ring, "We need to see Mindy Craig, please?" J. C asked, both hands on the countertop. The receptionist looked up, logged them in, handed us medical masks, (Just in case.) And sent us to the fifth door on the second floor, on the left. We ran up the stairs, too anxious. We fell through the door, and came upon the worst scene we've ever seen. Derek sitting in the seat next to Mindy, holding her hand.
"OUT!" I bellowed, grabbing Derek. "OUT YOU BASTARD!" I started to punch, kick, hit everything I came in contact with. Cameron grabbed me, pulling me away.
"JADE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!? WHY ARE YOU BEATING UP A STUFFED ANIMAL?" He screamed, tugging me back to a corner.
"Stuffed animal? But I saw..." ripped tufts of animal fluff all over the floor. Mindy was still knocked out. I heard my phone bleep. Once. Twice. Three times. It didn't stop. I glanced at the background picture on my lock screen. Me and Cameron at prom. Then I unlocked it. Me and Mindy about a month ago. She still had some of her red hair, her emerald green shinning. Now she had no hair left and I couldn't see her green behind her eyelids. Her heart monitor was beeping okay. (But then again, how would I know.) J. C sat next to her. He held onto her hand, his knuckles pale, his face tired. I looked at Cameron.
"Go. Mindy needs you. I'll be fine." He raised an eyebrow. "Seriously, Cam I'm fine. Go." He kissed the top of my head. I didn't know why I had the urge to say what I did next. Something was pulling at my stomach, yelling at me to let Cameron know. "I love you. I'll love you when you're mad. I'll love you when you're happy. I'll love you when we say 'I Do.' But most importantly I'll love you when you're sad." I hugged him. He squeezed me.
"Me too." And he walked over to Mindy, and sat on her other side. Again it happened again. 'Tell J. C you love him too
