"I would like Binta to work at the Abuja office for two weeks, there is this particular case that I would need her assistance its similar to that case of Hon. Ibrahim which she got judgment in our favour, I really liked the way she handled that matter. I must commend that she is very good" my uncle the principal counsel of our head office in Abuja pleaded with me.

"Uncle what you asking of me is difficult..."

"Really! Because you don't want her off your sight right?" he teased and I laughed

"No it's not like that, we have a lot of cases she is handling here and her mom might not accept her going to work in Abuja"

"Mary can come over and assist you with the cases and I'm sure if you speak to Binta's mom she would oblige. It's purely official make her understand that".

"But Uncle! Mary is equally good in-short even better than Binta moreover, Binta can always assist from here..."

"Do this for the firm please don't be selfish" my uncle implored.

"Okay! I would talk to her about it but it's her choice to make" I said.

"No she doesn't have a choice, you shouldn't give her a choice because you are in love with her, this is work Musa she signed up for it. I will fax an official letter to that effect to her immediately.

"That would be good then" I said slowly.

"Thank you son" he said.

"It's just for two weeks only" I emphasized

"Yes sir" my uncle said and I laughed.

Uncle Murtala is my dad's younger brother, the last born of their family. He grew up with us I had always thought he was my elder brother because my parent treated us equally and he was so attached to my mom and treated me nicer than my brother did. My uncle is four years older than my elder brother and they had always been best of friends and partners in crime until my uncle got married and changed to be a better person and expurgated himself from all immoral and rebellious behaviors, my uncle unlike my brother despite his rebellious life style was intelligent and focused and here he is today one of the Senior Advocates of Nigeria. He had tried on several occasions to talk my brother out of his deceitful life style but that only created hostility between them.

Uncle Murtala is a very hardworking, religious and trustworthy man and I respect him a lot. He had always been very good to me and I look up to him most times. He was the first person I told about my feelings for Binta and also poured my heart to regarding any issues and he is always there for me giving me all the support and advice I needed.

I feel unhappy that he has been married for 10years now but had never been blessed with a child most especially when he shows me how bad he wants a child of his own and most times he beats himself up attributing his misfortune to his rebellious life style but I always let him understand that Allah is ever forgiving and merciful. He is a completely changed and better person now and the doctor said he and his wife are medically fit they should just exercise more patience and wait for God's time. Thank God he has an understanding and religious wife. I pray Allah bless them with a child soon.

When I got a fax from Abuja office of my urgent attention for an official duty for two weeks I don't know if I should be relieved or worried. Relieved that I would be away from my boss, the feeling of him being so close but yet so far kills me. What if he was the one that sought for my transfer to Abuja office because he couldn't stand me, is he trying to get rid of me? I guess it's high time I started looking for another job before he sacks me without warning. Perhaps this is a warning sign.
