(I'm so sorry! I didn't realize that the two chapters up made literally NO sense! I'm so so sorry!)
My car door slammed behind me, cutting off the cold wind that had been blasting me a moment before.
My tires screech against the cement as I pull out of the parking lot. Radio turned up as high as it could go and the heat cranked up, I speed down the road of my best friends house.
Streaks of grey rush past my window, my head bobbing lightly along to the music. It was peaceful. Not dealing with couples surrounding you while you silently bubble about your dead beat soulmate was surprisingly relaxing.
As I speed past the first turn to my house rain starts to fall, hitting the cold metal roof and making loud clanking sounds. My once clear windows were suddenly splattered with water, messing up my vision of the outside world.
My hand reaches over and hits the window shield wipers almost automatically, not even giving a second through to the rain pouring from the gray sky. It was normal here. Rain was a friend along with sunshine.
My phone buzzes from the seat beside me. Eyes flashing down to the flowing screen I almost instantly roll my eyes. I reach over, turning the phone in silent without even answering the call I had been sent. I knew how the conversation would go...
(F/N) would try to guilt me into coming back. As she does every time I do something other than what she wants I would be the villain. With no consideration to why I did what I did, she would huff and puff about how I needed to be a better friend. How I needed to listen for once. How I was such a terrible person.
She didn't understand.
She didn't live every day knowing her mother would one day pass away in a fit of coughs. She didn't have to work three jobs to keep herself alive. She didn't have to go through every day alone...
She just didn't understand...
I sigh, my hold on the steering wheel slipping. My shoulders slump, the small smile held on my face wasting away as my mind wonders back to my mother. My mother... and the impossible amount of money I had to come up with to keep her alive.
How was I supposed to come up with that alone? I could barely scrounge up enough money to keep myself alive at this point... how could I get my hands on thousands of dollars?
A groan leaves my lips, leaning back against the soft seats of my car. I didn't want to do this... sometimes... sometimes I wish I was someone - anyone - else.
Everything that happens in a day... it weighs down on a person. Humans weren't made to break under pressure... but... I could feel my heart tearing apart every time I thought about my mother.
She would die if I didn't come up with more money in a week then I make in a year...
It just... it wasn't fair. Not in the least...
My eyes close for a moment, breathing in deeply.
Around my car the night seemed to shorten, shadows shifting around and coming to a stop. Forms slid in and out of range, jumping corners and dropping from buildings.
I, however, didn't notice this...
Or... not until it was too late...
It happened in an instant.
First a figure appeared in front of my closed eyes, shadows bending to his will. A smirk appears on his face.
Next, I finally open my eyes after the short relief. My headlights highlight the figure ahead, his red irises flashing in the light. My eyes widen, a scream piercing the air as my foot slams on the break. Muscles tensing and mind shutting down, the realization that I was not going to stop in time filled my mind. My muscles jerk the wheel to the side, the car following my command and swerving to the right.
The man chuckles from the outside, a dark and reedy sound. The night seems to shy away from him itself, shivering. True evil stood there, eating at the darkness he hid inside.
My car slammed straight into a wall. Flesh hits glass, shattering on both sides and flying through on one. I feel bones snap as I land against the wall, a fly to a flyswatter.
Pain seems to evade me. Where you would assume I would feel agony I felt nothing. I flopped against the ground like a fish out of water, my car bounced off the wall and slide to the side.
The cement was cold against my warm body, rain pounding against my skin. Breathing was hard, each inhale a gasped and forced one.
A ringing had filled my hearing since the second my car hit the wall. Even if music had been blasting right beside my ear I probably wouldn't hear it. My vision was blurry, blues and blacks flying past unsteadily as I tried to open my eyes fully.
I couldn't see anything.
~ No one's POV
Blood leaks onto the road, the (H/C) haired female laying limply against the cement.
Coughs and sputters fill the air, a struggle coming from the same strangled pile of limbs. Along with the whisking of the rain and the roar of the broken car, the night had been suddenly filled with noises that no one could seem to explain.
Until...
A Dark laugh cuts through the noise, a shadow stepping forward and gaining shape. Although his body was colorless and drab, arms undistinguishable from his torso, two eerie colors stood out against the rest.
Two red orbs broke from the night, staring down at the female he had crushed without even touching a moment before. Each step seemed to make his eyes glow twice as much as the last, glowering as he watches the female.
Along with that, snarling smile stood white against the backdrop of night. From an onlookers Perspective, the man was nothing more than a crazed smile with eyes.
But to (Y/N)... he was a nightmare.
