I huff as I step outside my car, slamming my door harshly. My eyes trail up to the huge 'Ackerman companies' sign above the tall building, a sigh leaving my lips. It was no wonder (F/N) had such a wonderful life. Eren worked here, and, more than that, Eren worked here as a very important... whatever he did.
My heels make a clacking noise as they smash against the ground. I had worn heels to see my mother because, well, I liked to be taller than I actually was. I stood around 4'9... Yeah it didn't go over well with my giant friends. (F/N) was around 5'5 while Eren stood at at least 5'7, I wasn't really sure. All I know is they are tall and they make fun of me for being super short.
I reach out and pull the glass door of the company open, instantly being hit with the smell of... clean. Whereas most companies smelled of business and formality, this air in this company just... hits you with the strong smell of bleach burning your nose. It was slightly terrible...
I gag slightly and fight the urge to cover my nose, stepping inside and walking over to the one desk I saw. As I walk my posture straightens, my shoulders roll back and I stand up straight. I lose the sickly tint of almost throwing up and, by the time I reach the desk and the secretary sitting behind it, I was mature and put together.
The secretary didn't even look up at me as I approached. You see, I could have sat and waited for Eren... but... I have places to be and I am not going to let that dork keep me from them. So, I would pull him away from whatever the fuck was keeping him from coming down.
"I would like to know where Eren Yeager is at this moment." I say strongly, looking down at the secretary who seemed to... have a little too much boob for that shirt...
The light grey haired women looks up at me as I speak, her eyes unamused and her frown seemingly permanent.
"And you are?"
"...do you know his soulmate?" I ask causally, tilting my head and setting my elbow on the high-rise counter. I lay my head in my hands and look down at her with a small smirk.
"Oh... you're her?" She said, a brow raising. I smirk and nod my head, knowing (F/N) and I would have a long laugh about the slut who had taken a liking to Eren. Eren himself had expressed his annoyance, and (F/N) had always been this close to coming into Eren's work and slapping the bitch across the face.
To go along with that, soulmates had the god-given right to know everything about their soulmate. Meaning they could walk into any hospital, show their identification, and figure out EVERYTHING they need to know about their soulmate. Things such as this - where 'my' soulmate was at - were things that I had the right to know, and this slut was forced to give me.
"He's on the top floor, wi-"
"Thanks!" Before she could finish I turn and make a B-line for the elevators. The secretary huffs and stands, her eyes boring into the back of my head.
"Hey! Come back! Miss you can't just do that!"
I turn and wave at her as I walk, quickly making it to an elevator and press the button for it to come get me.
The secretary had evidently called security, as two big guys in suits where walking straight towards me from the enterance. I sigh and roll my eyes.
Why do companies like this go so overboard? Mr. Ackerman has nothing to worry about, no one - no matter how crazy - would rob someone who has more money than fifty normal civilians would have in a lifetime combined.
Just as the guards started to get too close the door opens. I smirk and wave at the two men before entering the lucky empty elevator. The two men seem to speed up, trying to reach me before the door closes.
