The hospital doors couldn't open fast enough. It was like I was flying as I pushed the double doors open, my feet hitting the ground harshly as I step inside the air conditioned building.
It was just as white and boring as it had been for years. With the walls the same colors as the ceiling and the ceiling the same color as the floor.
I didn't have much time to worry about that, however, as I rush to the front desk. Behind it sat one of the many nurses I had befriended over the years. I called her nurse Grace. She was only a few years older than me, so we tended to talk more than with the other nurses.
When she saw me she instantly frowns. With a few more words muttered over the phone she hands it off to another nurse, walking to me and pushing the nurse that was originally supposed to help me out of the way.
"Oh (Y/N)..." She grabs my hand and holds it close, looking down at me with obvious sadness in her eyes. I could see the tears making a watery sheen over her dark brown eyes. "Dr. Spring will be with you in a few moments, I'll make sure of it."
"Grave What's happening. Where is my mother I want to see her. Now." I demand. The way she held onto my hand so gently only sent me into hysterics, making my breathing quicken as she tired to calm me down. To me this only meant there was a reason for me to need to be calmed down.
Grace sighs, smiling up at me sadly. Her hair was pulled up today, taming the dark, kinky hair she sported. Her skin was dark as well, almost like a mocha coffee. That's what her soulmate called her, at least. Mocha. She called him Vanilla. It worked out.
"You know I can't tell you that. I'll call Dr. Spring right now and get him down here to speak with you. Just wait for a little while okay? Don't go anywhere." She pats my hand softly before pulling away. She grabs a phone and dials a number, almost instantly speaking into it as fast as she could.
She left me alone, standing in front of the desk. I had stood in front of this desk many time before and yet this time stands out in my memory, and most likely will until I die.
This time, I could tell something was wrong. This time I could tell my mother was not okay. This time was different.
So, my reaction was different as well. There was no way I was going to wait around for my doctor to speak with me. I had been here long enough to know hat would probably take hours.
No, I wasn't going to wait. Instead I step back, gritting my teeth as I look towards the small hallway leading to my mothers private room. Just a few yards away... I could make it before Grace stopped me. I was allowed down that hallway...
Anyone with a family member down that hallway was allowed to roam it freely.
"Don't do it (Y/N)." The sudden voice made me jump, forcing me to swing to face him.
In front of me was Levi Ackerman, in the flesh. He stood in nothing more than business pants and a white button down. His eyes were just as steely and just as grey as always, except this time he also seemed to sport large bags under his eyes. Behind him were two men, both of them resembling the agents in the movie Men In Black.
"What the hell are you doing here! You scared me half to death!" I cry out in annoyance, my hand raising to lay over my pounding chest. I closed my eyes, breathing in and out slowly in an attempt to slow my rapid heart rate.
