Present Day. January 16, 2036.

There were no such thing as flying cars yet, but the cars and vehicles that they've made now we're so slick and quiet that you could barely hear them coming down the road at sixty miles an hour. You couldn't even hear a semi truck driving down the freeway. Which could be hard at times because as a driver you would need to keep your eyes at a constant swivel.

The rims on almost everyone's wheels gives the driver the ability to change the spin on them, and to change their colors without worrying to pay for extra which was a cool addition. The teens really like the addition to the color changing wheels. However, parents and adults enjoyed the high tech safety features that every car possesses.

Enough talk about cars themselves, the sun gleamed a radiant fire-red as it was slowly ascending above the horizon, the sky was blue and mixed with shades of violet and red. It glowed heavenly, and the sky had an extra glow to it and it gave a sort of relaxed sensation to those who'd look up towards the horizon. However, it is advised to not look at the sun.

Alexandria, who's a Junior that used to go to Timber Creek Highschool, in a town called Timber Creek, in California was sitting in the front passenger seat leaning against the ledge of the winder as her mom drives the fancy looking high tech car down the freeway. Her eyelids were still closed, and she could be lightly snoring. Her dark auburn hair dripped over her face.

She stirred in her sleep. Eyes fluttered open, and she stretched her arms and yawned. Her mother Ms. Ferris glanced over and the steering change to self-auto mode. A mode where the car can take it's shift when the driver wants them to and drives the occupants in the car with them feeling relaxed all the same.

"Glad you're awake sweetheart. We're almost to Maine.  We're going to take a quick stop. I'm getting hungry, and before it starts telling me to get some gas, I'll stop for that too." Ms. Ferris said with a smile as she rubbed her daughter's back.

It didn't look like it, but Alexandria was still upset. She wanted to contest against leaving California. She wished she could stay at Madison's house, but her mother wouldn't even let her do that. She said something about the world going through another apocalypse, so she'd always prefer to keep her family safe. Since the last generation of X-Men caused a world-wide problem, and people who have been caught with having supernatural abilities, have never been seen again. So her mother always feared that Alexandria could accidentally end up being affiliated with those kind of people. However, Alexandria only knew half of the reason behind why she couldn't be left alone in California.

It's also a big state in the United States. She liked how big it was, because the more people she didn't know, the easier it was to sulk in their shadows and pretend like she wasn't there.

"Would you like some donuts and coffee? I know BP doesn't have a very good donut/coffee duo, but at least they have sugar powdered donuts!" Ms. Ferris explained, and pulled her arm away and went back to driving. She flipped the right arrow button signifying the other drivers behind her that she was turning off on the exit ramp.

"Yeah, donuts and coffee would be good." Alexandria said with a tired smile as she sat upright, and stretched again. The car smoothly turned down onto the exit ramp, and around the corner of Capital Drive, Alexandria could see the BP down the road. Her stomach was grumbling, and she pressed against it, because it felt like it was cramping.

"I could use the bathroom too." Alexandria said with a shrug.

"Sounds like a plan, while you're in the bathroom I can get the car filled, and order us somewhat of a breakfast." Ms. Ferris pulled beside the gas pump at the BP parking lot, and aligned her car before getting the gas ready. Alexandria had gotten out of the car and headed inside the BP.

She could see the projection screen inside the BP through the windows. Something about a terrorist attack in New York City.  Alexandria inched closer, and was focused on the projection screen. She didn't have her cell phone with her, it was a thin device, but was plugged into the USB port in the front.

Alexandria took a look back at her mother who was preparing the pump. Alexandria then headed into the building. She was able to read the headline that was along the wall, and the background of one of the National Bank Companies that was burning and in front of the building was a lot of debris and rubble. The headline read "Revolt Against Triad." Otherwise known as file R.A.T. The news has been following patterns of attacks against those who side with the company, The Pulse. They hunt down the people with the supernatural abilities, and the news records every attack against them. Just for the publicity.

Alexandria sighed at the sight of the disaster, but then remembered she had to use the bathroom. Or her stomach reminded that she needed to use the bathroom.

She went into the women's restroom, which was in the back. It would only take her a few minutes to relieve herself and then wash her hands afterwards. She had a small wallet with her just in case, and didn't really need her purse, but it was inside the car. The moving truck was on its way to Maine. Alexandria still can't believe that they were still moving into some other crappy town. One that's across country literally, and she just couldn't believe that she had to leave her friends. She just hoped that after moving to Maine, things will get better. She just hoped so.

I hope you guys enjoyed this first chapter. Plus, hope that the detailing for the futuristic stuff was pretty cool. I'll upload some references to my descriptions so that you guys could get a clear picture of what the vehicles look like and such! I hope you don't mind that this chapter is long!

However, the longer the better!

Peace!
