The teen had awaken. She found herself in a standard 20x20 foot square bedroom. Polished dark wooden walls. There was a comfy chair paired with a desk on the opposite side of her. Curtains on her right that contrasted well against the dark wood. The left side of her was a wardrobe and a dresser. She wondered where she was. Alexandria hadn't felt so scared in her life. The almost kidnapping of her. The kidnapping of Mr. Ray because he didn't have the money for something that he bought from those gangs. The weapons that they used...
Could it all have been a dream? This wasn't her room. Not her standard room. With the bright blue colored walls, and her cute little desk in the corner with her make up and her mirror, and all of her random junk. Her laptop even. It was pretty much all she needed to keep her from being bored. Though, she had her mom. Her mom was an awesome person to hang around with, but Alexandria had trouble making friends at Timber Creek High. She did her best to fit in, but never did.
This room felt very strange to her.
It felt like forever since she had slept in a real comfy bed. After her mom sold the house at Timber Creek, Alexandria hadn't ever felt at home. Even when she was sleeping in this nice, warm and comfortable bed.
The door clicked, the knob turned, and the door slowly opened. A familiar face peeked in the room. Alexandria sat up.
"Hey Mom?" She asked with a slight daze. She grunted and rubbed her head. It seemed like it was bothering her. "Why didn't you tell me I was one of those mutants?" She asked. Her words were somewhat slurred as she sat upright.
Alexandria's mother had a fast food bag in her hand and a coffee. Coffee probably wasn't a good idea, but her mom needed Alexandria awake now before they head back out to travel.
"I brought you breakfast you've kind if been out for a day, love." Ms. Ferris explained as she sat beside her daughter and handed her the coffee. Alexandria's eyes opened wide, and she appeared to be dumb struck by the response.
So it was real! All of it! All of it? All of it was really, really real. How could she believe that yesterday wasn't a dream?
"Mom, you gotta be joking me right?" She smiled weakly and took a sip of the fairly hit caramel tasting coffee. It burned her lips, but she could also taste the couple shots of espresso too. Her mother just shook her head.
"No, not joking sweetheart. The magic is all new to me to. I knew your father had some sort of ability, but didn't know that it could be transferred down through generations." The mom said and opened the bag and handed Alexandria a steak and egg with cheese bagel. It probably wasn't healthy, but Ms. Ferris didn't care.
When Alexandria was younger, she loved going on vacations. Because every other night they traveled to a new restaurant, one that they haven't been to ever. It was awesome! However, this didn't seem like an awesome vacation when she had to leave friends for good, and start over at a new high school in a small town in a small state of Maine.
Now what's worse, she's a mutant. People like her were scrutinized by the country.
Alexandria took the bagel and altered from the bagel to the drink. She and her mother stood up and headed into the living room so that they could sit and eat at the same time without having to spill on the bed or anything like that. Plus, they preferred to sit at a table. After they sit at the table, they could make sure that each of them understand what's exactly going to happen next.
