February 26th, 2017. Henry's Bar and Grille.
Sitting at the diner, with a cup of coffee in one hand and a fork in the other, Ashely was watching her boyfriend with cautious as she took a drink from the cup.
"Alex, you need to tell me what's going on." She said as she sat the cup down carefully. It was late at night, but Ashely wanted to have some more caffeine in her system before she took on some weird adventure; she'll do anything with Alex if it meant that she had to jump in front of a train to save his life. She'll do it, no doubt.
Alex, with his emerald green eyes glimmering a sensitive green as he looked everywhere else aside from his girlfriend. He couldn't take the pressure, especially with The Pulse after him and his friends. Alex was a rebellious person and joined the cause to defend against The Pulse. They've been running the States for so long it was hard to have any normalcy within the U.S. in general; the only ones who were able to leave freely without being hunted by the mutants and tThe Pulse are those who haven't had the mutated genetics passed through into their traits. Those are the lucky ones. Alex wished that he was that lucky, but he seemed to have the ability to control light and he didn't even know that he was cursed with the mutated genes.
His parents never told him and he didn't find out until this very night, now he has to tell his girlfriend that he was planning on marrying that he may had to leave. She'll be heart broken.
"I-uh..." His breathing was harsh as he took his glass of water and nearly drank half of the glass.
"It's okay, Alexander." Ashely placed a hand on his that was on the table. The gesture gave Alex some comfort, but not enough. He was still nervous and he hoped that Ashely wouldn't hate him if he tells her about the accident with the bank downtown.
Out in the streets sirens of police cars and ambulances drive towards the bank. Their sounds were easy to spot out. It was difficult to drown them out with your own thoughts. He couldn't say something like; "oh I caused the fire," or "I'm a mutant," but Alexander couldn't think of any other excuse; he shouldn't be thinking about excuses. If he wanted to marry Ashely that would mean that he has trusted her to point where he believes that she'll take care of him well and for sure he'll take care of her too.
"There's a problem." Alexander began as he looked around the building.
"Yes what's the problem?" Ashley said as she raised a brow and leaned forward, she listened intently of what Alexander was going to say next.
"This might seem odd, but I've become a mutant." He looked down at his side of the table, he decided to not bother with his food as he had appeared to have lost his appetite. Ashely looked at her boyfriend and then around the room. There were no one around to hear them talk about what happened and if there was; they would be more interested with their own business instead of the couple's business.
"It's alright Alexander, we're in this together and I think that I can get someone to help us." Ashely said with a shrug.
