Timestamp: January 17th, 2036."You chose to come when I told you to stay in the car?" Ms. Ferris said to her daughter, looking at her with a furrowed brow and her hands on her hips. Her tone was easily readible, as Alexandria knew that she was feeling upset about her leaving the vehicle.
"Sorry mom." Alexandria frowned, "I just didn't want to stay in the car. I didn't feel- c-c-comfortable, being alone." Her hands were shaking, Ms. Ferris bent down and lowered her body to be closer to her daughter.
"You know what." She said as she was putting a hand on her daughter's shoulder.
"What?" Alexandria's tone was lighter, but she could still be tensed.
"It was a good decision anyhow. There's no one out here to watch your back when something happens. So just come with me."
"Alright." Said the daughter and as she walked, her hands appeared to be shaking less. Alexandria sighed and smiled allowing the small amount of comfort to soak in.
The walk across the parking lot was short, and The Beating Heart was definitely beating as there could be music heard as the pair had gotten closer to the building. Ms. Ferris took a deep breath as they confronted the front doors and headed inside the dark lobby.
It was dark; with black painted walls, neon signs (which did give some light, but the sunlight gave visitors the ability to see clearly in this room nonetheless), and a nice L-shaped couch along the corner of the wall to the left, and a counter for the attendant.
Fortunately, there was someone there. A man with a biker jacket and red hair. He was a foot taller than Ms. Ferris, and quite muscular, but he looked like he had a brain too. He wasn't one of those muscular jockeys that light up with every insult. Those were worse than a fuse really blowing up in your face.
"How can I help you?" The man asked with a careful eye. "Do I recognize you?" The man asked with his eyebrows furrowed as he leaned over the counter.
"You should." Ms. Ferris stood up tall and straightened herself. "I'm Ashely Ferris."
"Oh, you're the Ashely?!" The man said with his eyes widened.
"Yes. I helped run this club for years once it started. It was my idea after all..." Ms. Ferris said and looked to her daughter who just looked elsewhere while finishing her coffee. Alexandria knew now why her mother wanted her to stay in the car.
"So can we see him?"
"See the Boss?" The guard asked.
"Is that who he calls himself now?" She takes and shook her head and came closer to the guard. "Mr. Magnum," she said with a nod. "Yes."
"Alright, please follow me downstairs."
"Good. Come along sweetheart, let's go. We got some business to take care of."
