Chapter 1

Erika's Pov
I woke up early this morning to go and get breakfast for me, Morgan and my mom. Once I get back I wake Morgan and my mom up give them their breakfast and we sit and talk for awhile. I check the time and it's 6:30am.

E=Erika Costell MC=Morgan Costell AC=Angel Costell

E: alright Morgan go get ready mom I'll clean this up you can go get ready for work.

AC: no I'm cleaning it you do to much for me and Morgan end of discussion.

I looked at my mom and smiled.

E: Thank you

AC: you're welcome

Morgan came down stairs we grabbed our back packs and pepper spray because of the neighborhood we live in.

E: bye mom I love you

MC: bye mom I love you

AC: bye girls I love you too

I realized we were running late so we started running I gave Morgan a hug and dropped her off at school and ran Across the street to the highschool. I made it just in time. The teacher was assigning new seats different from last semester. And I got sat by my crush. Chance Sutton... no Erika no boys family first. And just like that I forgot about him I focused on class and then I got a text from my sister's teacher.

MT= Morgan's teacher

*on text*

Mt: hello Ms. Costell I have to inform you that your little sister Morgan has the flu and you have to come and get her from school.

E: okay thank you for letting me know

Mt: no problem

*off text*

E: shit

Teacher: Erika language

I look up I shock the teacher has never noticed me not even the students well the students didn't look at me they barely pay attention to the Teacher.

E: um yeah I'm sorry but I do have to go pick up my sister for school.

Teacher: fine you can go...but I'm only letting you go because you have good grades all you have to do is keep them that way.

E: Thank you bye.

I was running out of the class and down the halls thinking about how much I hate my sister being sick. Then I run into someone I didn't get a good look at them because I just kept running.

Jake's Pov
I was running late to school because me and my dad went a visited my mom's grave today and I was walking to class when this girl runs into me I didn't get a good look at her but something about her did stick out. She had a scar on the back of her neck. I'll find her one day.

*next day*

Erika's Pov
I woke up this morning and gave Morgan her meds and dropped her off at her babysitter who also happened to be one of my mom's co-workers. I get to school a little Early so the doors haven't been opened yet so I sit at the front step and put my headphones in and listen to audio book while reading along in my book.

Jake's Pov
I was arriving to school when I see this girl at the front of the school just sitting there she looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it but then she turned to look at the clock and her ponytail revealed the scar on the back of her neck she's the girl from yesterday. I go to approach her but the  bell rings and all of the students go in the school it wad super crowded and I couldn't find her. I don't know what it was but I was bothered that I didn't get to talk to her or at least see her face. I go to my locker to my friends Anthony, Chance, and Mackenzie already waiting for me.

C: hey Jake

A: wasssup Jakey

M: hey

J: hey guys

A: what's wrong Jake you seem down

C: and don't do that whole "I'm fine, it's nothing" thing we've known you since we were 5

M: so you might as well tell us what's wrong

J: okay, so I bumped into this for yesterday and she just kept running and I wanted to apologize but she was already gone so I just forgot about it but one thing about her stood out she has a scar on the back of her neck. And then I saw her this morning not her face but the scar and it's bothering me that i still haven't gotten the chance to talk to her.

C: well Jake there is only one thing to say

A: you're in love

J: what!?

M: no not really just let Chance finish what he was saying.

C: I was gonna say we got to get you laid tonight

M: what no listen Jake maybe your just curious about her because she bumped into you and the scar on her neck you want to know where it came from and its bothering you. If you were meant to meet her you will you just have to wait.

J: Jesus that was deep.

M: I do what I can.

A: you guys do realize we've been talking for about 2 hours and it's time for lunch.

C: no way seriously

A: seriously let's go.

We go to lunch and we are sitting and talking and I see this person speed walk out of the cafeteria but not any person it was my mystery girl.

J: you guys it's her.

I point to her

A: go get her man

I follow her out of the cafeteria but I couldn't find her. I walk back into the cafeteria disapointed.

M: no luck?

J: no luck

C: why is this bothering to so much?

J: I don't know man but I will figure out who she is one day.

Erika's Pov
I was in the cafeteria when I get a phone call from the babysitter.

*on the phone*

E:hello

Bs: oh my god Erika I thought you weren't going to answer

E: what's going on is Morgan okay

Bs: well whatever her teacher told you about her having the flu was bull crap she has a temperature of 102°

E: oh my god I'm leaving the school right now take her the hospital.

I run out of the school and when I get to the hospital the doctor comes up to me.

E: holy cap is she okay? Is she going to die? Am I going to die?

Doc: no Erika neither of you are dying she does have the flu but she just had it really bad her tempurature will be back to normal by tomorrow morning she'll be fine and ready to go to school the reason her tempurature was so high is because this is the last stage of being sick you look tired you guys go home and get some sleep okay.

E: thank you so much

Doc: it's my job

Well we did what we were told we went home and fell straight to sleep.
