CHAPTER 14

I had fought with myself to go and tell Cadillac the truth. I knew he had the right to know. It just that at that time he always told me that he didn’t want any kids. He said that they made you weak and that in his line of work he could take any weaknesses. I was already one and he hated that. I just knew how that conversation between us would have ended with me back at the clinic.

He put me through that twice already and there was no way I was giving this one up. Mickey was my chance for a real life. My chance at being a mom. So yeah, I kept my baby maybe I should have explained everything to Mickey, but something was telling me he would leave. In a way I guess you can say that I loved him too much to let him go. Now it was too late to right my wrong Mickey is the only dad that my boys know, and I was going to try my hardest to keep it that way.

“What the hell is your problem? What is really going on Regine?” Mickey asked when he finally came in the room.

“Everything is happening too fast for me. Everything is spinning out of control I can feel it. I had no idea you were working with Cadillac I thought that you were with Ronny them.”

“I was. Work started to slow with them, so I had to find somebody else. We needed the money. I had to do what I had to do.” He said sitting on the bed next to me.

“What is about him? How do you know him?”

“If he’s the same person I’m thinking about I used to hang with him back in the day.”

“And that’s it? Why would you act like that if he’s an old friend?

“That’s it I promise. I just know that he has a thing about females working for him. Something about us being too soft.”

“Like you said you haven’t seen him in a while. Who knows maybe he has changed. We need this money baby. MJ school was not cheap. And we still have three other kids that we have to worry about.”

“Mickey baby we have more to worry about than money. I just hope that you are right and maybe he has changed. I just hope that it is for the better. I honestly don’t feel that you should introduce Serenity to him just yet. Not until I see if this is the same man and if he is none of this is gonna happen. You hear me?”

“I hear you. Just give me time to figure this shit out. I won’t take Serenity with me tonight. I am going to bring MJ and Angelo with me.”

“No not Angelo take Justin with you. He is good at take pics since he’s always on his phone. I want some pics of this man.”

“Alright let me run this by the boys.” Mickey left Regine in there still traveling down memory lane.

“So, it’s been a change of plans you guys. Serenity you will go with us next time. So, spend tonight working on your knife skills. And Justin you and MJ are coming with me tonight.”
