Jenna:
“Who was on the phone?” Daryl asked as I returned to the living room. “A friend.” I answered casually to my brother. “What friend?” He eyed me suspiciously. “Tony.” “Who’s that?” “Tony Perry. Pierce the Veil guitarist.” Daryl laughed. “You expect me to believe that?” I shrugged. “Why would I lie to you dude?” He thought for a moment then shrugged. “I still don’t believe you.” I laughed and grabbed my phone. I tapped on my recent calls and tossed the phone at Daryl as I took my seat on the couch. “Oh, shit. My little sister got a call from Tony Perry. What did he want?” I kept watching the game as I answered. “Just wanted to talk. I’m going to his house tomorrow along with Kristi and Leila for a barbecue. All the PTV guys are going to be there too.” “You serious?” He asked as he handed me back my phone. I nodded. “Damn! That’s cool! I mean I don’t like them, but my little sister has met her favorite band and is friends with them. Why didn’t you tell me about this?” I shrugged again. “I don’t know. I didn’t think you’d really care. Let’s watch the game. I’ll tell you later.” He eyed me suspiciously, but nodded. “Aww, shit! That was so close!” I jumped out of my seat as Giovanni Dos Santos almost scored.
I spent the day talking and hanging out with my brother. Later that night, I texted Leila and Kristi to be ready by ten so I could pick them up. Knowing them, they’d take about half an hour longer than that. I decided to go to sleep early so I could rest up for tomorrow.
I woke up to the sound of Woe is Me’s Fame>Demise Acoustic coming from my phone. I sat up in bed and took my phone from my nightstand, turning off my alarm. It was 9:30. I got out of bed and headed to the restroom connected to my bedroom. I stripped out of my tank top and shorts and stepped into the shower. Ten minutes later I stepped out, wrapping the towel around my naked body. I walked over to my closet and pulled on a pair of grey, slightly ripped skinny jeans and tossed them on my bed. I went over to a drawer, pulled out my black panties and bra and put them on. Then I shimmied into the jeans I had taken out. I walked back to my closet trying to decide what shirt I should wear. Just then Daryl barged into my room and jumped on my bed. “What the hell, Daryl?” I yelled at him. “Morning, little sis.” He said looking up at me. “What have I told you about coming in here when I’m getting dressed?!” I glared at him. “My mom said to tell you that breakfast is ready.” He said, ignoring my question and not moving from my unmade bed. “Well if you’re going to barge in here while I’m getting dressed at least close the door behind you, idiot.” I strode quickly to the door and shut it, then headed back to the closet. I took out my black Star Wars t-shirt with cut off sleeves and my green Ninja Turtle tank top, holding them up for Daryl to choose one. He nodded towards the Star Wars one and I threw it at him while I placed the Ninja Turtles tank back in my closet. I walked over to the drawer next to my bed and retrieved my burgundy tube top. I pulled the tube top over my head and gestured for Daryl to toss me my shirt. He did so then grabbed my phone and started looking through it. “So, you’re up early to go to Tony’s.” I chuckled as I pulled my shirt on, the tube top visible through the sides of my shirt. I leaned into my brother’s face. “Yeah, so what?” I said as I took my phone from him and headed to the bathroom. I brought up the Spotify app on my phone and played a random song, letting the rest be chosen by the app. I set my phone on the ipod speaker in my restroom and turned up the volume a bit. As soon as my brother heard my music he got up and left, calling after him, “Be down soon!”
I looked at my face in the mirror and thought about how I should do my make-up. I dried my long black hair with the towel and then hung up the towel to dry. Taking my make-up from the doors underneath my sink, I ran my hand through my hair. I took out my liquid foundation and started applying it around my eyes. I don’t use it on all of my face because, being Mexican and coming from a place where the sun never hides, I was a bit tan. Wearing liquid foundation on all my face would just make me look awkwardly pale. However I did cover my face lightly with powder foundation. I applied blush on my cheekbones with soft strokes. Afterwards, I took out my Mac waterproof mascara and applied it heavily on my eyelashes. Then I applied eyeliner on my bottom eyelid, and on the outside half of my top eyelid, as close to the inside of my eye as possible. Eyeliner always made my eyes look bigger than they were, and I loved that. I lightly put on a burgundy like color on my lips and then turned to my hair wondering what to do. I pulled out the mousse from underneath my sink and sprayed some into my hand. I spread the mousse through my hair, making it look wavier than it already is. Satisfied with my work I glanced at the clock on my phone. 10:20. Just in time.
