Prolouge

I'm Marie. I'm a military child. I'm 17 years old. I move place to place and now I'm moving to "Aussie land" or whatever they call it. I have been all a cross the world and I have learned not to get attached to people, or places. because once you leave. You'll leave it for ever.

I'm 5'1, 5'2 on a good day , I have long brown hair, with natural highlightes. btw when I say "long" hair i mean like to my buttocks lol. I have visible neck bones. Dark brown eyes with long eyelashes. many people say I'm beautiful but I'm not

I'm Mexican American. Go Mexico. Lol.

That's just a little bit about me .

Oh also, my moms a total nut job. She is not bipolar but I swear she acts like it. She's a Hippocrate and narcissistic she will nonstop hit me and my three older brothers, Sawyer,Kai, And Dylan. That's just some of the things she does to me and my bros.

I start my new highschool tomorrow.

I play soccer, midfield and defender. I love it but I also love cheerleading.

People expect so much from me . I try I really do but it's never enough.

*First day of school*

*First bell rings*

"School. Yay." I said sarcastically. I hated school, who doesn't. Even though I hated it, it was my only escape from my mom.

I looked down to change the music from my phone. Ofcourse I bumped into some stranger dropping all of my books along with my phone.

The song "pretty hurts" by Beyonce was blasting loud, I was glad it was just me and the person I bumped into.

"Sorry, that was my fault, Im a clutz." I laughed.

"No, it was totally my fault." he chuckled.

It was one of those cliché boy and girl moments - we bumped into eachother in the hall, he picked up my books and we looked into eachothers eyes. I felt my heart flutter with feelings of love, time slowed down and it felt as if we were the only two people in the world. he picked up my books and asked for my name.

"I'm Marie." I said, "I'm new here."

"No dur!" he laughed, "well, it's not everyday Americans come to a little school in Australia." he chuckled.

"Well, yea." I punched his arm playfully.

We began to walk.

"So whats your name?" I asked.

"Luke." he responded, "what brings you to Aussie?" he asked me, when seemed to be playing a game of 20 questions, but not intentionally.

"My dads in the military." I said, sighing.

"Why the sigh?" he asked, "he's protecting our- your country." He said saluting making me laugh.

"Yeah, i know it's just that feeling you have were you don't know if he'll make it or not and you want him there through your milestones, you know?" I replied.

"Yea."

"Hey, umm this is my schedule, do you mind showing me where my classes are?" I asked.

"No." he took my schedule, "oh, history, that's my first class too, follow me!" he ran down the halls like a child.

"Slow down!" I laughed chasing after him.

We finally arived at the classroom. I put my hands on my knees, panting.

"Man, I'm out of shape." I said, making Luke laugh

"Here sit on the desk next to mine." he padded the seat playfully, I laughed.

"Hey, Lucas, whos the newbie?" a stranger asked Luke.

"Oh, Michael, this is Marie, Marie, this is Michael." Luke introduced one another.

We shook hands. I stared, he was cute to, why didn't my dad get stationed in Australia sooner! I chuckled in my head.

I notice his awesome hair, and began to stare.

Luke and Michael started snapping there fingers and waving their hands in front of my face.

"Hello?" they said.

"Oh, sorry, I was staring at your hair! It's amazing!!!!" we soon started laughing at the sound of what I just said.

"Thanks, You're American?" he asked.

"No, I just pretend to be American, I eat fries, burgers, I'm fat, I watch American Football, paint my face red, white, and blue on 4rth of July, just cuz I pretend to be American." I said sarcastically, making them laugh.

"You're funny, I'm gonna call you, 'merica." Michael laughed.

"It's Marie." I stated.

"Nope, 'merica" he nodded his head proudly.
