This is a colifer high school AU. It started as a one shot but I decided to turn it into a new story.
Jennifer is 18, Colin is 16 they're both attending Prospect High School in Illinois, Chicago (Jen really went there, Colin obviously didn't but in...
Halloween. They both liked different parts of it. Jennifer liked the dressing up and Colin liked the pumpkin carving. So they did both. Together.
They started the day with pumpkin carving. They'd both gotten a pumpkin a few days before. Colin's was large and bright orange, Jennifer's was a little smaller, she still didn't know how Colin was going to make that whole thing hollow within a few hours. You could definitely say Colin was an 'experienced pumpkin carver' though. He had told her not to look before he was finished. He insisted that they should sit apart. No peeking he said. Right now they were sitting across from each other at Colin's diner table with a huge wooden shelf separating them. He was really passionate this, you could tell. A little weird maybe but who cares? Jennifer didn't.
Jennifer was done in an hour. Her pumpkin looked alright. Pretty basic but not bad. She had been sitting in Colin's living room for two hours now. Allen had joined her for a while. 'Oh right, the pumpkin carving.' He'd said with a laugh. 'He's very... passionate about that. He's pretty good though.' She was in the middle of a movie when Colin called her name from the kitchen. 'Coming!' She paused the movie and practically ran over to the kitchen. 'Wow.' 'You like it?' He asked nervously. 'Colin that's-' 'Yeah it's not that good I-' 'Woah don't even say that. This is art.' She said pointing to the pumpkin which was- amazing. There weren't any words to describe it but she'd never seen anything like it before. 'You like it?' He asked with a small smile. 'Of course! It's amazing it's stunning it's- you ever considered being an artist?' She asked. 'Not really. It's more like a hobby... I think.' Was he blushing? He was definitely blushing. She kissed his cheek. 'You should give yourself some credit.' She smiled. 'Now let's eat. I'm starving.'
After they ate they went upstairs to put on their costumes. Colin went to his bedroom and Jennifer took the bathroom. Her costume consisted of a white sheet with blood (ketchup) stains. She decided to keep it simple. She had cut the sheet so it became a dress, sort of. When she put it on it was a little more exposing than she expected it to be. She bet Colin wouldn't mind. Her make up skills were pretty good. She put on some bright red lipstick and a lot of black eyeliner around her eyes. She looked pretty terrifying. She curled her hair and she was done.
In the mean time Colin was in his bedroom putting on his own costume. Jennifer wanted him to go bare chested but he kindly declined. They went with a pumpkin costume instead.

He borrowed the costume from Jennifer's brother, Daniel. He looked ridiculous... but Jennifer was really excited about this party thing so he decided to pretend he didn't look like... a dude dressed like a ridiculous pumpkin.
He knocked on the bathroom door. 'You ready, love?' He asked. 'I'm coming.' He heard some rumbling and then the door opened exposing a very- scary and sexy Jennifer. He had no other way to describe it. The sheet barely covered her thighs. 'You look-' 'I know.' She chuckled. 'You don't look bad yourself.' 'I do. I look ridiculous.' He sighed. He regretted that the moment he'd said it. She looked disappointed. 'You don't have to wear it.' She said. 'No it's okay it's Halloween.' He smiled trying to cheer her up. 'Yeah.' She smiles. 'Everyone looks ridiculous.' She really wanted to hug him in that moment but it was pretty impossible since there was a giant inflatable pumpkin separating Colin from the world. He looked adorable.
