It was a beautiful day. For October at least. No rain, not too much wind, a little bit of sunshine. The sun reminded him of her golden locks. 'Go get her my boy!' His dad said right before he left. Usually he'd be annoyed but today he was feeling too good to be angry. He decided to leave early and walk to school. He'd pick up Jennifer on his way there.
'Good morning, Colin.' Jennifer's dad smiled. 'What a beautiful day, isn't it?'
'Morning David. It is indeed.' They'd agreed that Colin could call him David when they weren't at school. 'I'll get Jenny for you.' He said before disappearing into the house. Colin chuckled at the nickname. Jenny.
'Good morning sleepyhead!' He said cheerfully when Jennifer appeared in the hallway.
'Why so happy?' She said dramatically. It's waaaaaaaay too early to be happy.' She said with a yawn. 'The weather is nice.' He smiled. 'C'mon or we're gonna be late.' He grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the door. 'Have fun kids!' Her mom called after them. He dragged her into the nearest bush and kissed her. She kissed him back eagerly, her hands messing up his hair in the process. He but her bottom lip and she opened her mouth so he could slip in his tongue. She tasted like cinnamon... and coconut. Delicious, he thought. Perfect. He woke up with a big smile on his face but it soon disappeared when he realized it had all been a dream. It was raining outside. He also really needed to take a cold and bracing shower... fuck. It wasn't the first time this had happened. He got out of bed, took care of his little - or not so little - problem and got dressed. 'Go get her my boy!' His dad said before he left. 'Byee.' He said grumpily because unlike in his dream he was annoyed. He didn't even know why he had decided to walk in this weather. He decided not to pick Jennifer up on his way because she was obviously going to school with her dad. I mean who walks to school with this weather? Apparently he wasn't the only one because a few feet away from him there was someone else. A girl with beautiful long blonde hair...
'Jen?' He asked walked a little faster so he could catch up with her. 'Huh? Oh hey Colin.' She smiled. 'Why are you walking in this weather?' She asked. 'Could ask you the same, love.' He chuckled. It had been a while since he'd called her that. She kinda liked it. 'I like rain.' She said. 'Occasionally.' That was one of the things he liked about her, she was unique... a little weird maybe. 'But it's cold and it makes you wet- never mind.' He chuckled. He was a lot more comfortable around her than he used to be. It always took him a while to get used to people. That's probably why he didn't have a lot of friends but Jennifer was patient. 'Very wet.' She laughed. 'I don't mind it'll dry.' He looked at her thoughtfully. She looked like she meant it.As soon as they arrived at school, Ian approached them. Jennifer started walking faster trying to ignore him. 'Jennifer!' He called after her. 'She doesn't want to talk to you.' Colin said angrily. 'Leave her alone.' Jennifer smiled at him gratefully. 'I just wanted to say sorry.' Ian yelled. 'Sorry for kissing that pretty virgin lips of yours.' He laughed. Colin wasn't an aggressive person, not at all, but he just couldn't help himself. He ran over to Ian and punched him in the face. Bad idea. Very bad idea. Jennifer knew Ian longer than Colin did and she knew he could be pretty aggressive if he wanted to be. She just hoped- auch. Ian had punched Colin in the stomach. She ran over to him and tried to help him stand. Ian just looked down at them with a smirk. 'I really thought you were different.' Jennifer said with a sigh. 'I've clearly misjudged you.' She said while she helped Colin up. 'Whatever.' He mumbled before walking away.
'Jen I'm sorry. I shouldn't have.' He sighed. 'You were trying to help.' She smiled. 'Are you alright?' She asked looking at Colin who was still clutching his stomach. 'Fine.' He tried to walk but winched in pain. 'Bullshit.' She rolled her eyes and took his arm for support. 'I'm gonna get you home.'They took the bus to his house. His parents were both at work and Allen was at school so they had the house to themselves. Jennifer helped him to the couch and they both fell down on it with a sigh. 'Lift your shirt, will you?' She asked. 'Huh?' He said confused. 'Just to see how bad it is.' She smiled. 'Oh yeah right.' He said lifting his shirt a bit. She leaned over and traced his stomach with her finger. He shivered. 'It's gonna be bruised... but you'll live.' She chuckled. He pulled down his shirt and tried to stand. 'Don't.' She said dragging him down gently. 'I'll get us some tea and a blanket. You can pick a movie.' She Saturday d before disappearing into the kitchen. When she came back with the tea and the blanket, Colin was asleep. She smiled and put the tea down before covering him with the blanket. She sat down next to him and took a bit of the blanket from him carefully not to wake him. She kissed his cheek and put her head on his shoulder. Drifting off to sleep, she thought about him. How nobody is perfect. How just have to close your eyes and breathe out and let the puzzle of the human heart be what it is...
So finally an actual 'long' chapter... it turned out pretty good if I say so myself🤷🏼♀️ I would appreciate some feedback cuz I'm not sure if people are actually enjoying this story, thanks!😂🧡
